  The head of the royal commission into child sexual abuse, Justice Peter McClellan, has referred 2,025 incidents of abuse to authorities since 2013, provoking 127 prosecutions to date.

  The commissioners have held more than 6,700 private sessions for survivors of institutional abuse.

  To date, the commission has analysed the information from 6,302 of those private sessions, and McClellan will for the first time reveal the breakdown of institutions in which those survivors were abused.

  Nine per cent reported abuse in an Anglican institution; 4% in a Salvation Army institution; 3% in an other Protestant institution; 2% in a Presbyterian and Reformed churches institution; 1.3% in a Uniting Church institution; 1% in a Jehovah’s Witness institution; 0.6% in a Baptist church; 0.5% in a Pentecostal churches’ institution; 0.4% in a Churches of Christ institution, 0.4% in a Seventh Day Adventist institution, and 0.3% in a Lutheran church institution.

  Man faces trial accused of harassing Jehovah's Witnesses

  A 66-year-old Gloucester man is to stand trial in July for alleged religious harassment of two Jehovah's Witnesses.

  Angelo Famiglietti, of Bloomfield Terrace, Gloucester is accused of religiously aggravated behaviour and using threatening words and behaviour towards the Jehovah's Witnesses because of their faith on May 3 and May 9.

  He denies both charges.

  Prosecuting Jane Cooper told Cheltenham Magistrates Court that one charge alleges he stood near to a Jehovah's Witness stand on the Cross in Gloucester City Centre on May 3 holding up a newspaper with the headline “Paedophile Jehovah's Witnesses”.

  an experienced j w of my acquaintance , who had best be nameless, urged me to watch this t v programme because it "proves the society were right all along in warning of the dangers of blood.. well, yes , it does in a way demonstrate that the potential dangers of blood products was not fully recognized.

  in particular this is shown in respect of the aids/hiv virus which was a new threat when it occurred.. there were some important points deliberately ignored by my dub associate , though :.

  Sorry, I thought I was being patient enough allowing six hours between my first new thread of the day and my second new thread within, I believe, an approximate 48-hour period - but I wasn't, I should have been more patient.   I view this forum as effectively being the 'newspaper of record' of the ex/jw community from the past 15 years - you can search this forum and generally find anything and everything of note ex/jw-wise - a huge amount of credit and respect goes to you for that - and that includes your noteworthy desire to keep the old/archive posts easily accessible - a truly useful resource.

  On the old forum it was very transparent - I believe it allowed for two new threads and 20 posts within a 24 hour period - and the forum gave you a running total from the last 24 hours - very transparent and understandable.

  Anyway, while I was waiting for my thread to go 'live' on the forum, another member posted a similiar thread which went 'live' before mine did.

  If I had caught my thread going 'live' within the 30 minute editing time-frame I was going to try to completely re-edit it as a new topic (can you self-edit the forum section it is in??)

  Unfortunately I misjudged the time period my thread went 'live' (I also thought it was going to be a 24-hour delay, but it seemed to be a couple of hours shorter than that?). This meant that unfortunately I missed the 'self-editing' opportunity - sorry about that.

  I would have been very happy for my thread to have been either deleted or merged by the mods in order to avoid any subsequent confusion of people posting in either thread.

  Sorry for the confusion in my initial description - which was a kinda reversed-mis-use of terminology as the time-to-go-live was not set by me, but rather by the forum - while at the same time I was clock watching an expected time-to-go-live so that I could try to self-edit it to avoid duplication, so apologies for that.

  Man in court accused of raping, detaining, assaulting female partners

  The man, who can not be named for legal reasons, has been charged with 10 counts of sexual intercourse without consent, three counts of indecent assault and eight counts of detain for advantage allegedly committed on the NSW Central Coast.

  At one stage, two of the man's partners were living in the same house with him. He allegedly owned the only keys to the house, kept the door deadlocked and forbid the women from leaving the house together. He forced them to sexually touch each other.

  The charges relate to seven female victims, six of whom were in a relationship with the man, and one of their daughters. The man has pleaded not guilty to all the charges and his trial is expected to last eight weeks before a jury in the Downing Centre District Court.
