yeah - that's why I said "how the JWs dealt with it" - it's not just the face-to-face meetings but also by the very serious 'conflict-of-interest' issues that where revealed too.

So they're still intending to investigate abuse accusations internally without reporting them to the authorities. What does it take to get through to these people?
In this case that they're commenting on, the perpetrator was known and had been dealt with by the authorities. The main issue that appears to have picked up is how the JWs dealt with it after (the face-to-face JC meetings).
Remember the - reverse - situation happens too:
Courts find alleged perpetrator not guilty - BUT the JW's find guilty and DF.

I don't think the above video was 'technically' part of the convention programme - because once the song has finished it seems to go into another song? just before the video cuts out?
It's all an (unintended?) consequence of having the lyrics on the screen (no songbook/tablet to hold) so your hands are 'free' and of course the more 'up-beat' music they recently introduced.... this is what happens...

Thanks - interesting - but as per oppostate's comments.....
The ancient Canaanites, who according to the Bible were commanded to be exterminated, did not die out, but lived on to become modern-day Lebanese, according to the first study to analyse their DNA.
And wasn't that actually the WHOLE point? - they were commanded to be wiped out but never where completely - Judges 3: 1 & 2
In fact couldn't the WT could use this DNA-thingy to 'prove' the above account?

Huge article(s) in Dutch media on JW child abuse
by Anders Andersen inso today the well-respected and serious newspaper trouw.nl came with child abuse within the jw as their topmost frontpage article.. the articles are well researched and aim primarily at the dutch jw situation.. afaik at least on member of this forum assisted the newspaper with the articles.

They lied about methuselah tree at convention

the brother/organization lied about how old they are.
he said oldest tree is 4200 years old when it is actually 5000 years old.

thanks for confirming - I had checked them out myself before my earlier post above, but I might have missed it, so thanks for confirming.
The WT have said - in print, in black and white - that the tree is "over 4,700 years old".
There is an issue regarding how they could survive a global flood - but that's a strawman argument - the issue is the age, NOT how did they survive - that's the gist of the title and OP of this thread - and it's noticeable that the original thread starter has 'gone quiet'.....
