stats as of january 13, 2018. .
england and wales: 1,325 congregations.
freddo: Charity Commission rules (I believe) only say accounts have to be submitted and made public if INCOME exceeds £25,000 (used to be £10,000) in any one year.
Yeah, appears that accounts only need to be submitted and made public in the financial years that INCOME exceeds the threshold.
There is no reporting threshold for SPENDING?
That's kinda interesting, partly because I'd have thought in terms of 'charity-use' - outgoings are more important (what is it spend on?) than income (where did it come from?)
If you look at the Accounts summary for Wrexham East - they needed to make public accounts in 2014 as INCOME over threshold, but they did NOT need to make public accounts the following year in 2015 as their INCOME was under the threshold even though SPENDING was over £100,000 that year.
there are lawyers putting out 'help-guides' for abuse victims now.
this one is from canada.

Wild_Thing: what is the basis for your assumption that her quotes are from 2002?
Because Hisclarkness can read?
The link in the OP that references the quote/s goes to this page:
http://www.asapsports.com/show_interview.php?id=11699
The date at the top of that interview very very clearly says "July 6, 2002".
okay i've been reading this one lately and so far it's even funnier to me than kyria's book, maybe because it comes from the male viewpoint.
this book is not to be missed!
buy it now.
JimmyPage: Okay, finished reading it. Would make a great movie
it has been sickening to read the most recently leaked documents by faithleaks.
it makes me so angry because so many of us have experienced first hand the horrible policies of the watchtower on abuse.
i feel like these documents are finally the smoking gun we have all been hoping to expose the watchtower, and so far, the only mainstream news that i have seen pick it up is newsweek.. what will it take for the mainstream media pick this up and give it the attention it deserves?
jwundubbed: Any statistics not provided by the JW is helpful
You mean non-Catholics turn up at Catholic churchs and count the attendance??
I'd presume even many of the apparently 'independent' statistics have their roots in the Catholics own provided numbers.
I understood that Pew Research is independent, and they've covered the JWs fairly comprehensively in a number of breakdowns including by age, ethnicity, education, family income etc etc
But the problem is how members are counted - is it purely by turning up for a service? or just saying they believe in it?

jwundubbed: Unable to find statistics on the JW religion that don't come from the JW.
Does this count??
