I'm not going to hijack this thread, as it is so important.
But I went to the referenced article, and made this post:

another thread referenced this article - pretty well defines life via wts.. the reference paragraphs are endless, and not to be a spoiler-alerter, but the sentence from paragraph 20 sums it up:.
"rather than be curbed at armageddon or later, it is wise to develop and display understanding with respect to authority so we will be the kind of persons jehovah wants in his new order of righteousness.
as a poster in another thread said (not verbatim), if that's paradise, i'll pass..

most people feel that it is unethical to post private messages.. how ever there does not seem to be a posting rule against it.. some people unfamiliar with posting on boards may not realize that it is not done to post private messages .
( even though it would seem self evident with the word private in it.).
so what do you think about making it an official posting rule?.
Hi.
I think the OP needs clarification.
Is the objection to:
- receiving PM's,
- PM's being publicly posted,
- other?
i am kind of like a puppy dog, in the aspect of liking to meet new people.
they hold out a "wonderment" to me.
new thought.
I always observed the blatant hypocrisy, without putting it together, when pioneering.
My PP would always host lunch, supper, etc. for his students (EASY time).
Last year, a neighbour was coerced into attending a meeting. I was STUNNED at the love-bombing (I wanted to leave and eat lunch - 40 minutes is enough).
I then thought about the last non-family person baptized in our hall (with wife of my old PP), the attention she had received when studying, and the total opposite in the years since her baptism. She must be so confused (only attends 1 or 2 meetings a month now, but she's a breathing statistic - Booyah).
It is pathetically stupid.
hi guys and gals!.
i've just put the finishing touches to my latest article, which talks about the tree of the knowledge of good and bad.. you see, i've always been fascinated with the tree of knowledge and the tree of life.
both are incredibly weird stories.
Always wondered why they weren't seduced into eating from the Tree of Life first.
there must be a lot of jw's out there with time on their hands.
look where the topic of jw's comes it at with the all time top 100 edited pages.
.
That's amazing.
More than Islam (so much agreement in the Muslim world, isn't there?).
at the international convention here i just got off the elevator with anthony morris.
he was heading to the basement and i was heading up to administration.
i rode one floor down with him before i went up to my destination.
You were actually blessed with a premonition.
That was a HELLevator.
Anthony Morris "was heading to the basement."
Sounds about right.
for crying out loud - it was just a typo - millions now living will never diet.

anyone read this book?.
the author is sending me a copy, just wondered.
just published in july!.
This thread stirs so many emotions in me:
as a child who went through it,
as a young pioneer who distinctly remembers a 40-something brother (who had recently divorced, won custody of his 2-year-old daughter, married a (ahem) less than attractive 20-something pioneer (ahem), became an elder, and beat the shit out of his then 3-year-old princess (she was a sweetie) for not sitting still for 2 hours, at the back (not even in the bathroom),
and me, imitating him, 10 years later, in the same hall, to the little girl, who was, and is (at 23), the love of my life.
This cult is so messed up.
not sure if this bothered other people, but it absolutely drove me crazy!!!!.
ok, typical annual memorial.
the emblems are being passed around.
2 Memorial memories
Long time ago - anointed sister at the front of the hall. Has put 2 drums of lipstick on. Virtually the whole hall ends up passing this glass gobbed in lipstick. Hilarious.
Splane munching crackers. Guy always creeped me out.
