That's a good chart.
Can you imagine comparing WTS to another corporation?
The churn rate is pretty high, and the customer acquisition cost is skyrocketing.
Time for new management!
so i'm having a pint and talking to the owner and his gf.. she's talking about her line of work - leads to my family history - and that my wife is in a strange religion.. the owner snorts, and says very disdainfully that his ex was a jehovah's witness.
i said bingo.. then the barmaid pipes in about her grandma and all of her aunts and uncles were witnesses, and were all out.
but the grandma has witness siblings, so went back after 20 years.
That's a good chart.

As the barmaid didn't know much about being a JW, she was fascinated and asked question after question.
Anyways, it got me thinking that there must be multi-millions who have left.
okay, this is going to be a bit of a general rant.
i had a long conversation with a jw elder recently about shunning and evolution.
i became qunite frustrated with the conversation and admitted this at the time.
The cult mind protects itself by going numb.
It is impossible to have a real conversation with someone who is dependent on the group.
my husband and i (both born in jws with extended family all "in" except for one of my sisters who left when we did) left the church 5 years ago.
we did not fade, we just didn't believe it anymore, told our families so and left.
obviously, big drama in our family after this, messy feelings, etc.
God CANNOT lie.
If something is not true, is it not then a lie?
The changes are endless.
The 3 that bother me the most are:
1. The generation of 1914 will not pass away, which I often used as a young pioneer. Ask any JW to define what the generation teaching is now. It's impossible.
2. The other is Knorr's prediction of the UN (the League) being revived in 1942. This was a revision of the Enemies book (which I have a copy). As well, the UN began its formation in 1940 (check the UN.org website) - pretty hard to not predict something coming into existence when it was already in existence.

"I found great joy in returning to the many warm brothers at Brooklyn Bethel. I had come in time to attend the history-making convention in Cleveland, Ohio, September 18-20, 1942. There, Brother N. H. Knorr, the Society’s new president, gave the talk “Peace—Can It Last?” This brought new light on Revelation 17:8. It was revealed that the Allied powers would prevail and that a new international “peace beast” would arise. This did occur when, after the war ended in 1945, the United Nations was organized" )

".On September 18-20, 1942, the New World Theocratic Assembly was held, fifty-one cities being linked with the main assembly city Cleveland, Ohio, and twenty-six foreign cities being favored with the same program. In the public talk, “Peace—Can It Last?” the peace that was to follow World War II in 1945 was foretold, also the reviving of the international organization for world peace and security, now the United Nations. ")
(See Kingdom Come book, page 166
"What composite “beast” has appeared in these “last days,” and what has been its performance on the world stage? At an international convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1942, the public talk entitled “Peace—Can It Last?” called attention to the prophecy at Revelation 17:7, 8. The speaker, Watch Tower president N. H. Knorr, identified “the wild beast that . . . was” as the League of Nations—brought forth in 1920. But now, in that wartime year of 1942, he stated: “The League is in effect in a state of suspended animation, and needs to be revived if it is ever to live again. It has gone into the abyss of inaction and ineffectiveness. It ‘is not.’” President Knorr went on to show that “the wild beast that . . . was, but is not, . . . is about to ascend out of the abyss, and it is to go off into destruction.” True to the Bible prophecy, that “beast” was revived in 1945 as the United Nations.")
(See http://www.un.org/en/aboutun/history/index.shtml
"The name "United Nations", coined by United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt was first used in the Declaration by United Nations of 1 January 1942, during the Second World War, when representatives of 26 nations pledged their Governments to continue fighting together against the Axis Powers.")
3. We know love because our Father is love. What father is going to murder a one-month old baby because of his/her parents' beliefs? What a dishonourable teaching of our Father!
question fit for blondie types.. happiness book:.
"19 one tactic that he has used is by encouraging the view that there is no devil or satan.
he is like a criminal who spreads the idea that a crime syndicate does not exist, thus lulling persons into a false security.".
Hi MG52
A major tipping point for me.

Was Jesus foretelling that there would be an evil slave class in the last days? No. Granted, some individuals have manifested a spirit similar to that of the evil slave described by Jesus. We would call them apostates, whether they were of the anointed or of the “great crowd.” (Rev. 7:9) But such ones do not make up an evil slave class. Jesus did not say that he would appoint an evil slave . His words here are actually a warning directed to the faithful and discreet slave.
RADICAL change from previous teachings.

The Devil wants to present as if there is no Devil.
Who therefore would want to present, after many, many decades to the contrary, that there is no "evil slave?"
Legit question.

tim burton 'big eyes' movie tells the story of art couple margaret and walter keane.
tim burton, a filmmaker known for his own brand of ghoulish cartoon characters, is taking on the world of wide-eyed artist, margaret keane, in a new movie aptly titled "big eyes.".
That's ironic.
I was reading that '75 article 2 days ago.
has anyone had success with a high traffic website or blog ?.
it might take a team of people to accomplish.. ads pay and people count, lots and lots of people.
does jehovahs-witness.net make money every time someone looks at the web site?
This is a stupid thread.
Anyone who has hosted sites knows that the revenue on this site in dollar per hour terms would be laughable.

Not with a visit.
With a click on the ads, yes.
so i got a text from a friend of mine today telling me that he'd been df'd.
since i'm still nominally a witness, this puts me in a tricky spot.
i intend to tell him in no uncertain terms that i will not shun him, but i'm not sure where to go beyond that.
I would text:
Is it okay if I ask why?
