Are they stumbling people?
Then, millstone around the neck and tossed into the sea!
okay, so its no secret that many of us are hoping to see the downfall of the wtbts (or at least a mass exodous of jws away from them anyway).
i was wondering if you had any thoughts on what this might look like?.
we all know that most every jw has their doubts, large and small, but is afraid to speak due to the illusion of unanimity and self censorship .
Are they stumbling people?
Then, millstone around the neck and tossed into the sea!
a pet peeve (major) is that of the gb pressuring kids to be baptized.. checking the aid book today and the following under baptism, no infant baptism.. virtually word for word between the books, except for the deletion of this paragraph:.
"regarding the practice of infant baptism, the encyclopedia britannica, vol.

"Regarding the practice of infant baptism, The Encyclopedia Britannica, Vol. III, ed. of 1946, p. 84, states: "The whole early period knows baptism only of adults, who join themselves of their own resolve to the Christian community. Infant baptism appears sporadically towards the end of the second century and indeed practised also during the following centuries, yet only as an exception.""
ONLY of adults.
Jerk-off kid (and family) destroyers.
apparently the .org site is getting 1200 bible study requests per day.
well that's what they claim anyway.
dos anyone think this is true?.
Since the metropolitan and university witnessing booths started, I was impressed with the volume of literature, interested ones, returning ones, other assembly-part-worthy experiences, etc.
However, I kept wondering where all the "bums in the seats" were with all of this hyper-activity.
i haven't been here in quite a while and thought i'd pop by.
i do lurk at times, i confess lol.
after reading the recent publications at the new golden calf (jw.org), my mind is kind of blown that jw's are still not seeing through the constant adjustments, clarifications, new light and reversals.
Ditto on the great phrase "thought eunuchs."
1 king david was now very old, and no matter how many blankets covered him, he could not keep warm.2 so his advisers told him, let us find a young virgin to wait on you and look after you, my lord.
she will lie in your arms and keep you warm.
3 so they searched throughout the land of israel for a beautiful girl, and they found abishag from shunem and brought her to the king.4 the girl was very beautiful, and she looked after the king and took care of him.
w 1984/05/01 p 8 ("Why Hesitate? Listen and Obey!")
Yeah, I lost my wife, but I listened and obeyed and got date-raped by my daughters. Gosh, I hated that so much that I almost forgot to have it recorded in the Bible.
Listen, obey, and ...
thought i am gonna introduce myself.
i am a girl from a country in europe, and not an english speaking one, so if i am writing strange or something, you know why.
anyway, have been reading here for a while now, the other day i thought it was time to register as a member.
factfinder: I love your old skit references.
i have many memories of skits in the 70's that made meetings tolerable.
Power girl - I love your bravity.
I have a daughter, awake, who is your age.
Rock on!
i have seen in my local area and while traveling a foreign country jw.borg booths at flea markets.
i remember about 8 or 9 years ago seeing a russellite table at a flea market, and a jw with me said how they were from russells time when those apostates left and the only preaching they do is setting up stands like that.
now jw's are doing the same thing.
If the postcards in Mike and Kim's videos take hold, then that's what will be left for witnessing.

we've been following this story.
how can someone openly defy the governing body and yet avoid being disfellowshipped?
Interesting post.
No idea of the Mirror's credibility - but the story seems straightforward enough.
As one cannot be DF'd for accepting blood, but may be DA'd if not repentant - this makes for an interesting JW theological challenge when allowing your child to accept blood.
it's definitely on their minds.
i attended a funeral recently and a jw told me that the person who died almost made it to the 100 year anniversary of the birth of the kingdom.. curious what comments like this you've heard in your area?.
(and can't wait for november!).
Sorry, but did the Kingdom not originally begin ruling in 1799?
Hence, are we not celebrating 215 years?
this, in my opinion, is one of christopher hitchens' most concise statements about obsession with armageddon.. i'd love to have a transcript of this and just sit and memorize it:).

Cult of death - too true.
