  long time lurker, first time poster here finally looking to get some things off my chest.

  i've always been a very curious person with tons of questions about everything, and i also care deeply particularly about societal issues like social injustice, racism, and homophobia.

  that, coupled with how boneheaded all the elders in my congregation are (except for one), led me to ask even more questions that led me to find ttatt.. .

  Ditto the remarks about going S - L - O - W with your wife, esp. if she is pioneer-minded.

  We have been so conditioned that any stress in life can be cared for best by going in service. That does not dissipate readily.

  I was an idiot as I became fully aware, because I've been floating for 20 years. But when I became fully aware, I thought others should be able to grasp that it's all BS in a short period of time.

  I wish I would have read Steven Hassan's book first to realize how messed up the mind of a person in a control group becomes.

  It would appear that you believe that a one-day old baby has already sinned so badly, that his Father will kill him.

  Phizzy and Vidiot's comments are pertinent.

  Essentially, the Borg is striving to control those of limited thinking ability, or those of emotional needs.

  However, these types of people are more of a drain on resources as opposed to contributors.

  Hence, as the Borg is openly number of members oriented, but internally, financially oriented, the financial downward spiral is unavoidable.

  i see my picture appears, which is my picture from gravatar.

  i do not want to remove my gravatar picture because i am registered on some sites where i want to have my picture, so i imagine if i would change my e-mail adress, that would delete my pic, but where can i modify my profile?

  i was once told that a publisher had the right to examine their own record card.. what would happen if a publisher examined it and threw it out?.

  There are some interesting historisities about this card.

  It used to be called the "Publisher's Record Card", which meant that it essentially belonged to the Publisher.

  Privacy and Access requests substantiated this as belonging to the Publisher.

  So the Borg changed it to "Congregation's Publisher Record Card"

  share yours, i'll start if off, i have a few i heard from the platform or from other jw's.

  one from the platform, a witch was studying with jw's, and she had a relationship with demons/spirits.

  when she was studying they turned on her and threatened her if she didn't stop.

  Family experience with this is just too sad to relate at present.

  However, knowing a congregation member and friend who committed suicide because of this nonsense is beyond reprehensible.

  Imagine my dismay when I realized that if/when the JW version of Armageddon actually happened, the WTS fully intended to - for all intents and purposes - rule the planet for a thousand years afterwards...

  I think another group tried this in Europe - some guy with small-man syndrome and a soul-patch mustache on the upper lip.

  Can you imagine DFing during the 1,000 years?
