You are in a tough spot.
I was there, for 20 years.
As I reached my limit, it did not end well.
Hopefully, your spouse is/has not become truly Borg.
If not. maybe hope. If so, sorry buddy, welcome to Hell.
having a believing spouse, but no longer having any desire to go to the meetings, or service, this is what i've come to call this space i'm in, and i'm sure a few others are in this same space.. nightowl .

does anyone have the 2014 stats from the 2015 yearbook yet?.
(isn't it usually out by now - or are they waiting to celebrate new year's day?
).
the new forum originally had a little country flag next to each post showing the country that the post was made from based on the geoip encoding (the country the ip address is from).
before i switched over to the new site someone made an issue about it violating their privacy and i didn't want to complicate and confuse the switchover with policy debate at the same time as technical issues so removed the flags even though i disagreed.. someone has already requested it as a feature and i think it should be added back so i thought it's now time to open the discussion and get everyone's opinions.
first, the reason i think it should be shown:.
It should be the option of the poster.
Personally, I do not mind, but with my initial posts, I would have minded.
People in smaller countries could rightly feel a threat.
As for introducing this now, I would challenge the ethics of a compulsory change that was not in the terms of service AT THE TIME OF JOINING.
As for Canadian privacy rules, I would think you would be in violation. Canada is the only country with mandatory privacy for .ca domain name registrations. (Contrast that to the US who forbids private .us domain registrations - complete opposite views.)
I would suggest asking Michael Geist for his opinion.
If I had the patience and a little more skill extracting the juice, country by country from these statistics I think there would be a lot of fun to be had. Don't think that the WT doesn't do this. I would bet my house on them knowing every last statistical detail for every country.

So, after a bit of analysis here's the synopsis:
The only growth is in impoverished countries - period.
There are some interesting anomalies - Britain, France, Australia, United States, India, and Indonesia.
The growth is in Africa and Latino countries. Brazil made an impressive rebound from last year. Mexico, Brazil and US are the big 3, with Nigeria and Demo. Congo a very impressive 4th and 5th for growth.
Surprises are Britain, France, Australia, and US for growth, and Japan, Portugal, and Puerto Rico for loss (I remember as a kid - when the KM had Kingdom News, and Japan has hit their 66th, or whatever, consecutive peak - well, with 2435 baptized and still a net loss of 672 - WTH Japan?).
Except for the surprises of Britain and France, Western Europe is absolutely stagnant.
Eastern Europe is in decline, which is surprising to me. Ukraine and Poland (with 2089 dunked, but still a decrease of 897) are the leaders. Given the decline in Eastern Europe, and the legal challenges, I'm surprised that Russia is doing as well as it is.
Canada is absolutely flat (c'mon, no jokes here), so the growth in Oz, US, and UK is puzzling.
Most Canadian immigrants are from strong religio cultures, i.e. mainly Chinese, Muslim, and some from Eastern Europe - all negative JW.
So, what accounts for the growth in Oz, UK and US? Different immigrants?
Same question for France.
Summation: The growth in western lands is absolutely over.
The only growth is in impoverished countries.
Therefore, send us money!
For clarification, the Winners chart is number baptized.
The Losers chart 2nd Column shows decrease in pubs., while Column 3 shows # baptized.
Same for chart 3, 2nd Column shows growth (or decline) in pubs., while Column 3 shows # baptized.
wow.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_fnga26hig.
as a baby-boomer, i went through the pre-1975 bs without giving it any credence.. even as a youngster, my mind said: "if jesus said that no man knows the day or hour, then why the h is everyone saying that a is coming in oct.
" and i left as a teen.. for whatever insane reason, i was convinced to return a number of years later, and sadly, got dunked.. major faux pas.. in previous posts, i have mentioned my endearing love of great rock (god bless rock and roll), esp.
my teen faves bto, etc.. attending this concert ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yukhsmphvvo ) and watching fred turner's fingers drive me crazy, as one of my children has music in his soul and the fingers of a protege.. i hate that this cult destroys the orgasmic satisfaction that comes from the giving and receiving of pleasure from each others' developed or natural talents or gifts.. god bless rock and roll.. .

MAJOR FAUX PAS.

it's just like i've had the wind taken out of my sails after seeing this.. http://youtu.be/yhlictggf8i.
on page 17 of the august 15, 1991 watchtower it says: .
"in the year 1919... [the society ] came out of satans organization.... ".
these are amazing admissions.
I would argue, then, that Jesus should have chosen the Anabaptists, and particularly, the Mennonites.
The Mennonites, Hutterites, and Amish, scrupulously followed the Bible, diligently kept themselves separate from the world (most even living in religio colonies), AND WERE ARDENT PACIFISTS DURING "THE GREAT WAR."
Mennonites today practice more of an "orphans and widows" Christianity then any other religion.
i just thought we could share some of the funniest moments since its the holiday season and we are taking things easy.

My Children book reads a bit differently, and is on page 313, but the same ideas.
