  End of an Era - Dave's Last Show

  My final Dave post (not a guarantee - or, rather a WTS guarantee - IOW mind-changing allowed).

  As I have been watching Dave this week, I needed to PVR Kimmel (who I prefer over CBS Dave).

  Late-nighters will be aware of Kimmel's obsession, and inspiration from, Dave.

  As Wednesday was Dave's last show, on Tuesday Kimmel showed photos from his teenage man-crush on Dave, and told his audience that his Wednesday show would be a rerun, and that the audience should watch Dave instead.

  Also, a tribute from Cleto to Paul Schaeffer.

  Respect!

  From/to Kimmel, Cleto, and props to ABC for allowing same (old NBC adamantly refused NBC clips to CBS Dave).

  when the rnwt was released, we were invited to go to the local assembly hall.. there was a sister right next to me and she started bragging that it was her 8th year in an annual meeting.

  (typical thing, all spiritual).

  when was time to sing, i listened to her beautiful voice.

  I sit in the back row, then block my cell phone number, and subtly dial numbers of people in the hall! (I have pretty well everyone's number from when I was a popular and exemplary appointed man....)

  Its really funny to hear phones ring out loud, then people dive into their bags to switch them off....then the flow on effect of seeing everyone else check their phones...

  Ah, I know its childish...but it gives me a laugh.....

  The JW religion has just cost me my marriage & my family life

  after leaving the organisation 10 years ago i fought with everything i had to stay in my marriage and with my three children.

  after a tumultuous number of years trying to maintain a happy family life while living in a divided home, it's finally over.

  the religion is single handedly responsible for destroying my marriage and my family.

  There is no greater pain than what WTS does to families.

  Some would say that the death of a child is greater.

  Without diminishing such a tragic thing, and thankfully not having experienced such a tragedy, I stand by this statement for the following.

  Making a life-long commitment to a person, and then embracing the formidable challenge of caring for a little life, changes every fibre of an individual, and of a couple.

  On an organizational, and on a local, level, there are MEN, often childless, some unmarried, who feel that THEY have the power to speak for The Creator of the Universe, and that said Creator has told your spouse that he/she should separate as you are a "spiritual" threat to him/her and to further isolate your children for the same reason.

  i just wanted to introduce myself and say a big hello to all of my mentally diseased friends.. i say friends because i have been lurking for some time so it feels like home (us lurkers are a bit scared and cautious so it takes a while).

  i won't bore you with too many details, but i am a born in, currently serving as the cobe of a congregation.

  my wife and i have pioneered for the last 10 years and were shaken awake by that ridiculous 15th july 2013 wt about the generation and 1914.. my wife who is much smarter than me has questioned for years.

  You are in an enviable, and yet, incredibly, challenging situation.

  Your luck in having your spouse at your side in this journey cannot be under-emphasized.

  How to exit - gracefully, subtly, notably - it is a challenge with no perfect answer.

  As I presently have the movie Alien running in the background, I am at the scene where Ripley has found Newt, and the queen is laying eggs.

  Ripley hesitates, and then decides to toast those eggs.

  Why?

  One would presume to prevent other aliens from capturing and enslaving her fellows as Alien-progenerants.

  Alien Lett (on behalf of "our mother") - "Baptize your pre-teens to us."

  I want Ripley on my children's' side - "Get away from [them], you bitch."
  

  Find a way, if you can, to save others.

  i was just thinking of something i observed on a visit to bethel some years back, that at the time struck me as odd, but now that i look back on it, it might be revealing about their financial situation.

  please feel free to agree/disagree with me and also bear in mind this is some years back so my memory may be sketchey.

  i remember walking into the front entrance of the bethel to do a tour.

  Agreed.

  If one carefully listens to Lett's words, he says that our PROJECTED outflow ...

  That could mean many different interpretations.

  They could be increasing their DESIRED expenditures by any percentage, even double than in previous years.

  Thus, if they usually receive a certain amount each year, they would be short for their DESIRED expenditures.

  Relief Work: Alberta Flooding

  jehovahs witnesses claim to use portion of the contributions given to the world wide work funds for relief work.

  unfortunately, as shown by the alberta flooding video, they seem to have a greater interest in reporting (or advertising) it than they are in actually releasing funds for such work.. introduction.
