A fair number of elders, MS, and pioneers were not removed, never mind not DF'd.
(The commission has a spreadsheet of each attacker.)
i have not been in a position to watch all of the interviews, so i'm sure that i missed a few things.
here is my question.
were either elders or ministerial servants accused of sexually abusing children, or were the accused just lowly r&f publishers or bible studies?

so my husband believes the wording in john 13:35 is wrong.
instead of saying, "by this all will know that you are my disciples-if you have love among yourselves".
it should say "by this all will know that you are my disciples-if you have love for yourselves".
i have seen some ask on this site how the active jw's are handling what is happening in australia.
here is my little experience from last night........ my parents were baptized in the late 30's as children and have never faltered in their determination to survive the great tribulation and live forever in paradise (even though they actively associate with all their df'ed kids).
my father is still actively serving as an elder and my mother has always been by his side.
Agree with ozbrad.
The morning was the warmup.
The afternoon was the game - not as dramatic as I'd hoped, but St, Angus knows what he is doing.
for decades before leaving, i always found this contradiction so hypocritical, and one of the harshest, emotionally damaging, things that this cult does to its young.
SaintB:
"Act of respect" is my point.
There is a difference between respect and worship.
Cappy:
In Canada, you do not stand.
WT policy is:
If the custom in your land is to stand AND sing, then you may stand ONLY.
If the custom is to stand ONLY, then you must remain seated.
How f'd up is that?
I and my siblings suffered through this nonsense, and we made our kids suffer.
One bro in our hall had a beer poured on his head for sitting through the anthem at a hockey game.
After that I stayed in the concourse at venues until the anthem finished.
okay, i know the royal commission hasn't started yet.
but i'm confident enough that he will be telling some whoppers.
so i thought i'd be the first to get a thread started for something that will begin... very soon now!.
I gotta say that WTS was lucky that Jackson was the Aussie, and not Tomo or Lett.
Although Jackson was about 30% in cult mode, he was also about 40% sincere.
It was like these guys are never forced to realize the cruelty of their processes and rules.
(For Tomo, Splane, and Sanderson, that wouldn't have mattered one iota.)
i thought at the end, stewart made brilliant use of scripture (about establishing fornication or other sexually immoral practises) how, in such a clever way stewart used scripture to point out that some one could basically stake out someone's house to see if a person stayed over night be they homosexual or heterosexual............that on the basis of a sort of stakeout, the two witness rule was ambivalent yet it prevailed.
due to sufficient suspicion.. and therefore why did this "suspicion" not prevail with child sexual abuse.

You're right, Billy.
I apologize for having been found guilty of thinking.

it's a business related matter and i'm just looking for some insight on doing business (very remotely) with mormons.
looking for some inside tips on what a devout mormon would find acceptable and/or not in business.
or if it even matters to them when it comes to business.
i have just finished reading 'brock talon's' two books.
in one of them, entitled journey to god's house, pub.
he comments on how the wt's pictures of the post-armageddon world do not agree with their doctrines, namely that those who are physically resurrected will not marry/have children.
Again, the Mormons have Dubs beat.
Polygamous marriage in heaven.
I was told by an "in-the-know" elder that in the drama at a Canadian convention where a patriarch (Noah?) and his family were resurrected, and Noah and his wife hugged.
Bethel quickly notified all other, and future conventions to ensure that Noah and his wife did not hug.
So, I paid attention to that part of the drama.
It was pretty bizarre to see this resurrected couple talking to each from 10 feet away.
