Another generation....
by joey jojo init has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?
the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

Canada Branch Finances - 2015
by berrygerry inso, cra has fixed the glitch whereby they had probably posted the annual return of a small congo.. at first glance, there was disappointment that the gb's begging has been paying off.
so, donations are at an all-time high, up by 10% (line 4500).. more staggering, gifts from other charities exploded to $33.5 million (line 4510).. as a result, total revenue is at a staggering $83.3 million (line 4650).. however, expenses are still high, with supplies increasing by $5 million (line 4891).
(really explains the push to digital, and discontinued publications.).

Most insiders know that WT has a controlling interest in the Bluth Company.
Jim Cramer has analyzed both companies

So, CRA has fixed the glitch whereby they had probably posted the Annual Return of a small Congo.

As a result, the deficit has remained, and is at $6.8 million. Much better than the previous 3 years, but still very sickly compared to 2010's $20 million surplus.
Also notable, Canada sent $35.9 million to Brooklyn (or offshore) in 2014. 2015 is down to $3.5 million (line 5050). (For future reference - 2011, $82,420 - 2012, $2,045,845 - 2013, $216,022 - 2014, $35,921,399 - 2015, $3,485,726 )
Synopsis - arresting the hemorrhaging is important - but, they are still negative. Will next year be a break-even year? Looks like 2016 will be a make-or-break year. Meantime, you goddamn kids better not buy any more ice cream in your life - ToMo is getting tired of hotdogs.

He said "I know..
June 2016 WT, page 21:
Or the love of the world might involve
efforts to attain “great things,” such as
through the pursuit of higher education.
(Jer. 45:4, 5) We stand at the threshold
of the promised new world. What I posted on another forum:
Nice to see the threshold back.
The largest threshold in the world - should be in the Guiness Book.
2015 God’s servants are on the threshold of a righteous new world
2014 Standing as we are on the threshold of the new world
2013 God’s servants today are on the threshold of a righteous new world.
And then, a big gap for 7 years.
2006 We are now on the threshold of a new world promised by Jehovah God.
2004 As we stand at the threshold of the promised new world
2004 In our case, we are on the threshold of the promised earthly Paradise.
2003 We are on the threshold of that new world.
2001 However, Christians today stand at the threshold of a wonderful Promised Land—God’s righteous new world.
2001 Today, we stand on the threshold of a vastly superior Promised Land—a paradise earth
2000 We know that we are on the threshold of the best of times because we are very deep into “the time of the end”!
2000 Yes, we stand at the very threshold of the fulfillment of Jehovah’s decree against Satan and his entire wicked system.
For the sake of brevity, let's skip a few decades.
1959 That is why we are on the threshold of a new world
1958 We are on the very threshold of his righteous new world
1958 His signs and wonders, understood, portend that we are standing at the threshold of a peaceable, happy and life-giving new world.
1956 that we are at the verge of the battle of Armageddon which will destroy Satan’s world organization, and that we are at the threshold of God’s new world.
1954 Jehovah’s servants, more than any others in the earth today, have much to look forward to, being right on the threshold of the new world.
1954 We are at the threshold of this peaceful millennium.
1953 We are now on the threshold of a new world that will never perish or grow old
1953 FULFILLMENT of Bible prophecy indicates that we are living at the threshold of God’s new world.
1951 Bible prophecy shows that we are standing at the very threshold of that new world
1951 We are now at the threshold of the righteous new world.
1950 And now in this “time of the end”, when we are at the threshold of the new world,
And that's as far back as my dear old WT Library goes.

Whatever happened to "YOU'RE WELCOME"? Has "NO PROBLEM" replaced it?
by Terry inwherever i go, i say "thank you" to clerks, servers, delivery people, hosts and hostesses and the response has become invariable: "no problem!".
have i aged to the point i'm now an old fuddy duddy who doesn't "get it"?.
is it counted mannerly to avoid, "you're welcome" in favor of "no problem"?.

It bugged me when it started a few years ago.
I've become used to the fact that that is how millenials say it.

As I age, the more introspective I become.
I believe in Intelligent Design.
I've been looking for the episode without success - but I feel like we are in an episode of the original Star Trek TV series, where "God" had created us as some kind of experiment, and is watching us as we "evolve."
The end game?
"God only knows."
