Congregations are full of older ones who were led to expect the end when they were still young enough to work ,and stay forever young. Now these ones face a sparse old age with little provision set aside.
The article ""Do Not Be Afraid . I Will Help you" tries to address this .
"Aging is another major concern. Many people reach retirement age and wonder if they will have enough money to live out the rest of their life comfortably. They also worry about the health issues that may confront them as they grow older."
The answer?
"They need to continue cultivating faith in God, trusting that he will provide their necessities"
They need to economise, cut back on luxuries (Don't all pensioners?) and trust in God. They give an example of an elderly couple who face difficulties but because they were such good examples to the others, a young couple in the cong.took them in and provided a home for them
" These older ones consider the younger couple’s help to be a gift from Jehovah."
So there we are ..Trust in God , keep Pioneering and to hell with future financial planning. Sounds like a good plan to me....or NOT!
