Prince was on the board of directors for the WTS
by Barrold Bonds ini was talking with a friend of mine who knows a few people in the home department at bethel.
apparently, prince was, as i noted in the title, on the board of directors.
he apparently was sort of a silent partner or advisor in the whole thing.

And, in other news, Barbara Anderson has been invited back to Bethel's Writing Department (with pay). -

a cardboard prop to look like a car
We had this one as well, four chairs arranged behind the cardboard to look like a group in service.
One of my favourites was the segment of the Theocratic News (in the KM, done one SM in a month).
The bros made a cardboard TV set, with a cut-out the size of the TV screen.
Speaker says, And now, with the Theocratic News, Br. Schmo.
Br. Schmo (inside mock TV): Good evening, ...
Also, with the written review, the review sheets were passed out, as well as pieces of thin pressboard, smooth on one side, to use as backing for writing the written review, The written review was passed to a neighbour for evaluation - the kids were always strict in marking each other's answers.

the Guardians of Doctrine - What was your view of GB 1.0?
by berrygerry inwhen i was an all-in, younger, somewhat uber-dub - i envisioned the governing body as spending 16 to 18 hours a day at the bethel library, with their noses in the bible and associated research books.
sky-j was propelling his holy spirit directly at them, maybe opening the book to the right page or paragraph, and zap, new light.. when i learned that these dudes only met on wednesday mornings, for as little as 10 minutes, and spent the rest of their time managing and traveling, it was quite a letdown.. anyone have such thoughts of our guardians of doctrine?.

WT's expert on blood!
by Joyzabel inthe january 8, 2000 awake magazine published an article "the growing demand for bloodless medicine and surgery".
this article has been quoted extensively by jws as support for their "scientific" justification for refusing blood products.. a quote from that article that is familiar to most jws and exjws is this one:.
“all those dealing with blood and caring for surgical patients have to consider bloodless surgery.”—dr.

No need for retraction.
There will be a providential reason for this that will be revealed in the unknown future.
Same thing happened with 1914.
Revelation Climax book:
[Footnote]
Providentially, those Bible Students had not realized that there is no zero year between “B.C.” and “A.D.” Later, when research made it necessary to adjust B.C. 606 to 607 B.C.E., the zero year was also eliminated, so that the prediction held good at “A.D. 1914.” -

History of DF - Question
by thedepressedsoul infrom reading crisis of a conscience and members here, i have gathered that df was originally a means to cleanse bethel and stop apostates from spreading their own thinking inside the organization.
.
when did it also branch over to sinners that were struggling with an issue that relapsed on multiple occasions?

Key scriptures overlooked by WT:
James 5:15 "will be forgiven" (not conditional on a committee's whim - WILL BE forgiven )
James 4:11, 12 "He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother speaks against law and judges law. Now if you judge law, you are, not a doer of law, but a judge. 12 One there is that is lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But you, who are you to be judging [your] neighbor?"
Also see Draw Close to Jehovah, ch. 16, par 14
Why must we “stop judging” others? For one thing, our authority is limited. The disciple James reminds us: “One there is that is lawgiver and judge”—Jehovah. So James pointedly asks: “Who are you to be judging your neighbor?” (James 4:12; Romans 14:1-4) In addition, our sinful nature can so easily render our judgments unfair. Many attitudes and motives—including prejudice, injured pride, jealousy, and self-righteousness—can distort the way we see fellow humans. We have further limitations, and reflecting on these should restrain us from being quick to find fault with others. We cannot read hearts; nor can we know all the personal circumstances of others. Who, then, are we to impute wrong motives to fellow believers or to criticize their efforts in God’s service? How much better it is to imitate Jehovah by looking for the good in our brothers and sisters rather than focusing on their failings!

If the elders give you a hard time tell them you have anal stenosis along with a raging case of hemorrhoids. Tell them that you acquired it from not wiping properly. Tell them that you get relief from freezing hot dogs and sticking them up there. Tell them that you don't like wasting food so you boil em up afterwards.
I go through about six a day - would you like to come by after the meeting for hot dogs and beer?

My sister denounced the two elders
by opusdei1972 inyesterday my sister presented, against the two stalker elders, a complaint before the district prosecutor.
the prosecutor said to my sister that in the country there are freedom of religion, so it is totally illegal to accuse a person loudly in the street before her neighbors , and to insist for going to a illegal judicial questioning.
she even showed to the prosecutor a past notification in which she asked to the elders a written document specifying the charge of apostasy so as to attend the judiciary meeting with her attorney.

I need food for thought..
by raven inhi friends,it has been 20 years that i've slaved for the wt and through out the past couple of years i could feel myself fighting an urge to accept that something was not right.
i fought it off for so long only for it to resurface frequently throughout my years of pioneering, assembly/convention parts, & speaking with people about the "truth", slaving and giving to try to be a "spiritual person" but in reality i was not spiritual because spirituality (according to the org) is doing all of the things they want you to do.
which then will label you as spiritual... no !!!
