God is love, but if you dont love him back he will slaughter you!
by BU2B inthis was one of the things that first got me thinking.
i noticed how in books like "draw close to jehovah" they paint god as a loving, warm, just god who does not desire any to die.
i could not love him at all, let alone with my whole heart.

Deut. 30:15-20 is often referred to - I was always puzzled by it.
"You must choose life."
OR?
How is that a choice?

The one apologist site re-hashes the lie that I used to spread too:
http://www.jehovahsjudgment.co.uk/watchtower-un-ngo/hailtothechief.html
"During World War II the League of Nations had, for all intents and purposes, ceased to function in any practical or meaningful way. However, The Watchtower magazine reckoned on the re-emergence of the League of Nations in a new form, after interpreting the contents of the prophecies in Revelation. Yes — the Watchtower Society was interested in educating the public on the United Nations and how it will play a part in Bible prophecy — even before it was formed!"

Damn it...all we have done is added more hits to the website count of "900,000 hits per day" boast they made!
Still an embarrassingly small amount of daily traffic for an org with over 8 million members.
Walmart.ca (Just the Canadian site) receives 400,000 visitors per day.
At one meeting, a family was interviewed, and they check JW site AT LEAST once per day (I used to check it every other day - hardly ever anything new.) I would use wol.jw during every meeting for research.
Add in how many attempts are made to show the site in the new ministry, and, yes, 900,000 is not significant.
However, the number of visitors is up, so maybe this will be the new distraction from the membership numbers.

Think you've pinpointed it.
(Aren't mobile sites supposed to be simpler, code-wise, etc.?)

DELIGHTFUL DROP IN MEMORIAL ATTENDANCES: 2011 VERSUS 2014!
by steve2 inthe us kingdom ministry shows the collective total 2014 memorial attendances of the countries that now comprise the us territory in 2014: 2,610,810.. those countries are: the usa, bermuda, jamaica, turks and caicos and puerto rico.. the same collective total for those same countries three years ago - 2011 - was 2,666,592.. that's a decrease of 55,782 from 2011 to 2014. i am happified.. while there has been the occasional year in which memorial attendances from one year to the next have shown decrease, this is a first: decline evident over a three-year period.. comments please!.
.
anyone have the know how on how to provide the link for the kingdom ministry download?

Can you post the numbers from each year over the past 5 years?
Also, when did the Memorial tract campaigns begin?

I was a publisher of falsehoods
by scotoma inthe biggest regret i have about association with jw's is that they used me to publish their lies.. yeah.
a publisher.
think about the responsibility of a "publisher".. a publisher takes pride in bringing "truth" to the public.

That's what bothers me.
I was a very successful pioneer.
I remember using Mt. 24:34.
I also remember reasoning with people: How did they know in 1942 that the League of Nations would be revived?
Never knew that this was a rehash of the previous interpretation in the Enemies book, and that the UN was essentially started in 1940.
No internet, so they could get away with such "prophecy."

Sadly, it's not surprising.
I've watched him "religiously" (Simon - don't ban me) for decades on talk shows and elsewhere.
He had a terrific sense of humour and awesome mimic skills (not Rich Little, but good).
He often spoke openly of his depression.
Most of the top comedians suffer from this dichotomy.
It is tragic.
Hopefully, whatever the next life is, he will be bringing laughter into it.
