I have to wonder what medications a lot if those previois posters are referring to.
IF you have serious depression you basicly cannot manage it without medication.
i have never felt or known anyone who felt like a zombie from the medication, not if the people who where genuinely ill enough that they felt like a zombie prior to the medication.
i cannot stress enough that you cannot manage SERIOUS depression, by walking, eating well, etc etc. they may well help, but this is too big for that.
depression is a chemical imbalance, it needs medication just as diabetes does. I have had several episodes of severe depression, I cannot imagine what my life would have been like if I hadn't taken medication . I would strongly suggest the importance of good therapy, learning to re think the automatic ways we think is vital.
whilst anxiety and depression often go hand in hand they are totally not the same thing..
you need to ask yourself if what you are feeling is that sense of worry, anxiousness, or more a feeling of total hopelessness, lack of pleasure, inability to sleep....
i now take a very mild dose of a medication to control my blood pressure caused by my anxiety issues, it's worked well for me.
this is only my journey, but I do hope it helps.
as so many have said before, we are the walling wounded. I prefer the term survivor.
