  this was one of the things that first got me thinking.

  i noticed how in books like "draw close to jehovah" they paint god as a loving, warm, just god who does not desire any to die.

  i could not love him at all, let alone with my whole heart.

  yes, the bible has many platitudes such as the golden rule, so do the koran, and other holy books.

  the fictional god in it has nothing to offer me.

  you mean I can hate akk the people I decide aren't following him the way I decide is right? NO thanks, i will pass on that one....

  pros and cons of anti depessants?

  obviously i'm having ex cult issues, family still in and a wife that's all kokoo for cocopuffs as well as our marriage isn't good.

  i would like to leave her, she has never been the kind of wife i wanted.

  anyway the stress is getting to be to much, thinking about things all the time and its effecting my work as well as otherthings.

  oh that's an awful story.

  I am so sorry that you went through all of that.

  you must be a very strong person, I think that comes through in your writing......:):)

  it may be that you have more reserves than the ordinary person, MOST people with severe clinical depression are simply not capable of doing many if the things that do in fact help you recover.

  that said, there is a strong genetic component, as there seems to be in most things now.

  I so hope you are in a better place now...

  Demon attacks on JW in past, where'd they go?

  in the 80's and 90's (maybe even earlier) i remember hearing lots of witnesses talk about "demon attacks".

  whether it was someone studying the bible who then started having strange things happen in their house to people bringing stuff home from yard sales and getting personal attacks and horrible dreams resulting in them dystroying stuff they brought home or getting rid of it.. .

  i also remember hearing a sister say she had to pray in a home with a study because the study started to get attacked.

  objective truth,

  that was NEVER my experience with physiatrists.

  i never found one that was a glorified drug dealer.

  i had well trained professionals that cared for me and helped me to recover.

  I never had anyone sit and tick off boxes

  NOONE ever sat there and ticked off boxes, they all helped me to talk, and as I started to recover to make decisions as to how to manage my feelings and stressors.

  without their help I would not have made it through.

  cognitive behaviour therapy is a great thing, but not when you are so far down the dark place you can't think. you need chemical assistance to get out of there first then you can make changes...

  dis member, if you're depression is severe enough, you literally cannot function. you can't garden, you can't walk, you can't do any of the things you are recommending.

  these are all good things, but not when you are severly clinically depressed.

  my lived experience is, I wouldn't be here today without them.

  would I suggest chemical help is you're a little blue, or sad, or stressed? absolutely NOT

  would I suggest it if you're seriously clinically depressed? absolutely YES.

  would either be right? I have no idea! I can really only say what was right for me.

  it's not shocking, it just demonstrates how easy people are to fool, to convince them there is some mysterious outside force. both groups are as deluded aa each other.

  I accept you are genuine but refusing to accept one groups fairy tales and substituting your own is nothing to do with any supernatural force.

  I always remember someoine being publicly reproved from the stage for gettingpsychotherapy, pretty big reason to blame it on demons, maybe that doesn't happen now?
