  I'm an athiest and the text is most likely quite knowable! The church father quoated enough that most of it can be reconstructed. There are of course thousands of varients but most are slips of the pen. Bart Ehhrman makes a big deal about gnostic texts but the fact is half of Paul's letters are gnostic

  i'm not sure if i believe in life after death but i thought of something that has me leaning toward that direction.

  unlike other living beings, humans have a consciousness that is separate from our brain.

  two prime examples of this are addiction and dieting.

  I guess dolphins and elephants have afterlifes too. They have self conciousness.

  Actually although I'm an athiest I do believe in a sort of afterlife but it's more on the quantum level.

  Why was the Book of Enoch omitted from the Bible..

  the book of enoch taught women magic, the art of war.

  and cosmetic..they felt this book was too far out in left field.. the show "bible secrets revealed".. ok, magic vs having a monster baby by a angel.. so happy they omitted that book, otherwise women would.

  Because the stories were designed for a Jewish Mystical audiance. It needs to be noted that the writer of Jude (Second Centery CE) quote a verse from the book.

  Revelation's cosmology is based on the Book of Enoch.

  after all, "at this time,over 13,000 kingdom hall projects and 35 assembly hall projects are needed worldwide.".

  hmmm, not too sure about that but all the recent re-branding seems to be heading .

  Simple.. KHs cost money.Internet is paid for by you to listsen or watch the talks and school. I imagine they will come up with a skype version for commenting at the WT lol.

  However with the dismiss of KH will come more conventions or more elder's visits

  1. Third person ... He talks of himself in third person. A literay tactic to fool the reader into thinking he is humble.

  Also spears are thrown at him... he gives speeches and wins over Roamn genrals. And predicts when cities will fall to the day<<< do you believe this? I don't

  However despite this he is our main source for the Jewish War. He spends huge amount of time writing of the Essenes and I have my suspicions he was not really a Pharesee.

  Why do I find a Josephus quote every 3rd or 4th WT article. Don't they know this guy was a traitor and a liar? I use his history sparingly and with skepticm.

  i previously posted under howthebiblewasinvented however since then my comouter died and all info lost..thus the new name and new intro.

  btw my post are always pg rated.. first i am a born in, baptized at 16 but could never kick the masterbation habit lol.

  i felt jehovah would either 1: kill me at armagedden or 2: forgive me.. for the later hope i lived and after my father died i continued.

  Yes El. Exodus 3:14,15 and Exodus 6:3 try to cover this worship of El under the rug. Yet the fact remains if you change the word God to El when reading the Hebrew scriptures it makes more sense.

  The New Testament assumes one god so the word God there is Theos which is actually a term for any deity.

  Jesus and the Money Changers - Matthew 21:12, 13

  it occurred to me that there is a particularly relevant scripture in connection with all the recent changes regarding donations, pledges, loans, tithing and all the rest:.

  jesus entered the temple and threw out all those selling and buying in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.

  and he said to them: it is written, my house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a cave of robbers.

  A witness walks into the kh. No one knows him. He has 12 buddies so it's great for attendence records lol. He proceeds to grabb the contribution box and rip it out of the wall.

  Elders aproach him and ask what is wrong. He screams: "Kill me I will be back in 3 days ha ha." The elders try to pysically shop him by his 12 goons keep them at bay.

  He throws the money box down and scatters coins, envelopes and checks all over the floor. The 12 goons help themselves.

  As one of the elders darts for the phone the witness names Jesus screams at them that they are sons of bitches (offspring of vipers)

  The elders and upset by fear the congregation since so many hate them (the elders) and this Jesus dude is being rallied on by teens and 20 somethings.

  Jesus now takes the curtains an makes a whip and started to chase the elders out of the hall screaming at them: "Stop making my father's house a house of contributions!"

  Half of the witnesses leave. Half stay to hear the wisdom Jesus has to say. Jesus tells them to eat his flesh an drink his blood. All but the 12 leave.

  Jesus looks to his firends and asks if they want to leave.

  Pedro says: No boos. You're to coolest dude out there. Besides you showed those elders up!

  Jesus mutteres something about a Judas in the group and leaves a deserted KH.

  Taking a blood transfusion is a worse sin than committing suicide

  according to this news report http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-27292918, a jw cut his wrist but was caught before he died.

  if only a blood transfusion will save his life, he is refusing based on belief as a jw and is supported on that, including his jw father.

  it's funny many religions put suicide as a really bad sin, but in this case it shows on jw standards taking blood is worse then suicide.

  1 Samuel 14. Read the chapter. Saul makes a stupid oath and all his men are so hungry that they eat meat with blood still in it. Saul:

  1. Tells them they are apostates?

  2. Condemns them but leaves it between them and Jehovah?

  3. Kills them?

  The answer is somewhere near 2. Which is why this issue is NOT based on the bible. (Im not a believer)

  You know only 5 places in the bible mention giving to religion:

  Exodus and Numbers have Israelites giving to Moses. Priestly propoganda written in the 400s or 300s BCE!

  King Jehoash....Asking for mony for the temple in 2 Kings 12. This is probably a construction work (Solomon never existed) and if the hsistory in 2 Kings is accurate here I would say it was a political move and the WT does NOT do politcal things do they (2 Kings and the Dtr. History are Exilic works about 550BCE)

  Of course 2 Corinthians 8 and 9. Two sepeate letters! Read the damn subscriptions in verse 1 of each! These are letter asking for relief and put simply begging.

  Galatians 2 is the last but worst example. Here Paul cusses out Peter and then after Peter tells him F You (go to the gentiles) BUT keep the poor in mind which the author (Marcion... not Paul) say I do already. Well sorry this is a story which never happened. Besides that if it id happen Paul was an apostate!
