Will Artificial Intellegence Make The Human Race Extinct?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think it is inevitable.
i don't worry about it but it just seems that the human race is going down a road that they can't make a turn off.. they are probing/discovering how the human mind works and produces intelligence down to the individual molecule.
now with the invention of the super quantum computer soon we will be able to build even better artificial intelligence greater than our own, so it will be easily able to out smart us because will we be a bunch of dumb apes first discovering how to make fire in it's eyes.. it will have it's own different agendas than us humans.

Jesus—a real, historical person
by Ireneus injesus was a real and historical person (not the way jws or the rest of the people think him to be) because of the following historical facts:.
1) the fact that the most influential political establishment of that time (roman empire) was convinced that jesus’ name would sell to suit their political agenda (to promote slavery) shows that jesus was as historical as roman empire itself; hence they implanted slavery-friendly verses into the bible as though spoken by jesus (such as mathew 5:39, 41; 24:45 ..etc) this was in contrast to the real personality jesus really was—he was a man of courage, who ‘walked alone to do what is right if those invited refused to accompany him.’ when his family and disciples were fond of sleeping, his delight was to spend early morning hours alone, in meditation, with god to the extent he could say he was “one” with qualities of god.
(mark 1:35; john 8:1, 2; 10:30) such a person would naturally be too famous and too crowd-pulling against whom even the influential people were helpless even when they were whipped out of the temple which reminds us of “hollywood rambo style” merely because of his moral authority (not that he had any supernatural powers to perform miracles).. 2) similarly, emerging religion (apostate christianity) too knew they could misuse the name of jesus to serve its commercial agenda.

Philo celebrated the Passover with Herod in Jerusalem several years in the 30s... like when Jesus was brought before Herod... Philo never heard of Jesus and he was in the same room.... nope.
There WAS a preacher named Jesus who was a prophet in the Jewish War who died from a rock crushing him... Thats likely the only historical Jesus I will point to.

Looking For Your Words of Wisdom and Encouragement
by new boy inthis one seems to sum up what religious ideologies have given the world.. i have very deeply looked into the endless destruction and genocide that religious ideologies and dogma have inflicted upon human beings.
i have seen how damaged human souls are, how deeply depressive, meaningless, and prone to exploitation are the lives that many live.
religious dogma is at the root of this epidemic meaninglessness.

I have twisted the meaning of 1 Cornthian 1:22 The Jew 9relgious people) require a sign... yeah the supernatural... the Greek (thinking people) seek wisdom. Yeah you keep doing that and anything not proven that seems beyond the natural world IS part of the natural world you just don't understand it yet wait a few decades.

How did ancients know entire Earth was covered by water?
by Bad_Wolf inentire world used to be covered by water.
i am not talking about the 'great flood', but on earth's formation itself.
the bible talks about earth being only water and then god making dry land appear.
-
HowTheBibleWasCreated
I don't know who says the world was covered with water 4.4 billion years ago but that is unlikely since the world was in formation.. think cascading impacts and a molten mess. Also 4.2 billion years ago any dry land was obliterated when the moon was formed by collision ...
The author of Genesis 1 uses a Greco-Mesopotamian model which always starts with water

BTW you can add Doeg the Edomite to the list of Joel Adams i noted that today. (I noticed the drama voices since I have downloaded then and fused them together with audacity for my wife (still a witness) and find many of them very humorous. (Try the channel Watchtower Radio on youtube).
Anyway i notice that Job in the new RNWT audio has a reader for Bildad is the same reader as the drama actor for Joshua Job 8. Wonder what his name is. We have already IDed two voices...The voice of Jehovah would be nice.. he had a weird accent through the bass effect

The Dead Sea Scrolls - did the Qmran sect influence Jesus and the early Christians?
by fulltimestudent inthe small sect that lived in the qmran area (and who 'owned' the documents known as the dead sea scrolls), is important if we want to understand the religious thinking in the form of judaism practised in the first century ce, and therefore the starting point for the development of early christianity.. what did jesus know about the essenes who were at least in some sort of association with that sect?.
if early judaism was truly monotheistic, how can we relate some of these thoughts to that concept?.
from document iiq17 viii: "they bless and praise the god of gods ..." (note the translators(geza vermes) use of a capital g, why did he decide to use a capital.

I will go a step further and say that the beginning Essenes produced Daniel and the Book of Enoch both works influenced Christianity

Many who have been a JW since the 70- 80s remember the JW dramas coming out yearly.. today they are movies but to the topic.... Many of the voice actors are the same.
One however is plain odd.
Lets list his roles as I remember:
The Exodus drama: Janes
Gideon drama: an anger worshiper of Baal
Job Drama: I think Bidad
In the Elijah drama he is Jehosaphat
Now in the dramatic bible reading of Job 1,2 he is Satan
Now many would suggest this guy is dead by now but I don't think he is. See the RNWT audio book of Job has him as athe voice of Eliphaz.
IF anyone forgets his weird voice check out Job chapter 4 on the audio.
Now my question is ...
Whoever this guy is..lol... did he ever give a talk... and did anyone take it seriously.... I never heard this high up brother give a talk and if he had I would have remembered it as a joke!
Anyone have his name?
Any talks?
I give him credit for being creepy.

HowTheBibleWasCreated
Lets answer two points that are wrong:
1. Have the OT manuscripts been changed.
Likely. One only needs to compare the LXX to the Masoretic text to see this. While in the past many held the MT to be older now that is slowly falling away. Indeed the Septuagint is shorter in many places and besides that>>>>
2. The Torah predates written Hebrew language...WRONG! The oldest texts in the bible are from Judges 5 and Exodus 15 and possibly Psalms 45. The former two are in very old Hebrew predating 800 BCE but not going before 1000 BCE. The majority of the books from Genesis-2 Kings shows major Hellenistic influence from the beginning to the end. (Even the creation story in Genesis 2-3 is pulled not from the Epic of Gilgamesh but from Berosses Histories (which uses the Epic))
I will also mention that the Dead Sea scrolls community were a cult even weirder then Jehovah's Witnesses and their changes to any texts were more messianic and Apocalyptic then anything. The books of Enoch and Daniel were likely from that community.
As for Hebrew being the original language that is kind of laughable since the older languages are well known.
