hi this is for the lurkers.. please start reading from another translation and use tools like www.biblehub.com to verify the differences you find.. biblehub has an interlinear and a strongs concordance and heaps of dictionaries and commentaries.. you don't have to be a translator but you can clearly see how the watchtower bible and tract society has changed the bible to devalue jesus, to support their idea of a paradise earth hope for christians and many other false doctrines.. i could never understand why the jw's where attacked when they chose to translate the bible - now i know.. seriously people, there are a lot smarter people than me on this forum and heaps of research.

Several myths here:

1. The NWT is NOT the only bible to use yhwh in the NT.

Compare:

The Scriptures 1998

Messianic Israel Standerd Bible

American English Bible 2001

Although a valid point is that the name YHWH does not occur in any of the manuscripts we have. In fact Paul's letters first turn up in a gnostic religion called Marcionism which said YHWH was not Jesus father.

2. The NWT is the only bible I know to read Job 6:6 the way it does.

3. The insertation of 'other' in the NT from 1950 to 2006 had brackets and one could see it was not in the original text. (Removed in the RNWT 2013 and NWT 2006)

4. "At the end of 1st century there was apprx. 1 million of Christians spread across the whole Roman world."

FALSE!

Maybe a few Ebonites and Jewish Christians but certainly not a million. More like a few thousand,.

Tacitus mention is based on a bad historian he is quoting which is acknowledged by many today.

everybody says there is this race problem.

everybody says this race problem will be solved when the third world pours into every white country and only into white countries.. the netherlands and belgium are just as crowded as japan or taiwan, but nobody says japan or taiwan will solve this race problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.. everybody says the final solution to this race problem is for every white country and only white countries to assimilate, i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites.. what if i said there was this race problem and this race problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into every black country and only into black countries?.

1. Let me help. This is the 21 century. Although governments are sepertaed into countires Many of them follow the US, China or the EU. The others have their own ideas such as islam or 'give up' (Africa)

i have not meet all atheists, and it would be foolish for me to assume that all atheists, share the same prototypical view points.

i am inclined to feel that this classifies the views of a large percentage of atheists.

Well suppose I propound to you that there is a teapot in orbit between Mars and Jupiter. I belive it. Now none of our telescopes can see it but I belive it. I tell my children, evangelize Soon millions belive in the teapot and scriptures are written. Then you come along and ask for proof of our teapot. Our proof is faith... after all you can't DISPROVE the teapot....

Replace teapot with god.

New World Translation Versions/Revisions

hi folks.

new here, and growing weary of finding an e-text version of one of the earlier releases of the new world translation.

i have searched high and low, and for some reason, it is as if it does not exist.. i'm catholic, but for research purposes and as a courtesy to jws, i've put the 1984 and the 2013 versions in a database format for e-sword (e-sword.net).

the 84 and 2013 versions are incroperated into JW Library. It's the 1950-1960 releases that are in six volumes that prove how goofy a translation job they did.

If we are dealing with the USA I would say yes. 60% of Americans recently said evolution is false.

Now religion in itself is not bad if we are talking Buddiism, Taoism etc. Christianity however forces you to accept things that simply can be proven false scientifically.

Inaccurate. 607 was the middle of Jehoakim's reign. Necho II was dominating them. Babylon had not yet invaded.

People should learn more about the Bible flaws

i have noted that the main problem for those who are seduced by the watchtower society is their ignorance about the bible itself.

people who believe that the bible is the word of god usually ignore the studies on textual criticism and how scientific criteria forbid absurd stories like that of the global flood.

so, i strongly believe that students in schools need at least an obligatory course on "the bible" through the point of view of science and the textual criticism.

That is my goal. I respect the bible and actually love the texts.. but as a secularist... People need to know why it says what it does.

by their science is so far off it's sad ...but understandable.. the wt published several articles in the past dealing with reletivity etc.

Where are the quantum mechanic articles? Nothing... none... nadda.... My prediction... there never will be...

Quantum theory undermines EVERYTHING about reality. The WT would be forced to admit Jehovah is an undecided, hopeless juggler. Jesus (Who the WT says created everything as a master worker) would no longer be the 'way' or the 'truth' '. He would be an uncertainty. Not only that this mysterious Holy Spirit would never work anyway.

I should add there are two newer theories that relate somewhat to quantum mechanics:

1. The Multi-verse theory (Becoming mainstream in science)

Jesus died once for all time..... really.... how many times did he die once for all times. How many did did Adam take or not take a fruit.

2. The Holographic Universe (Not yet mainstream but moving up)

This theory disproves our very existance and the only possiblity of God is as a Black Hole.

Do you want to remain in a religion that MUST reject any science done in the last 60 years or so.

That includes Genetics as well.
