While I disagree with the dating of the editing the rest is a good find. I have recently been untangling the book of kings and have found two layers. Some of the clue are for instance Jehu killing all the prince's of judah and then in the next chapter Athaliah does the same thing. Or Elijah introduced abruptly as if we are in the middle of his story. Elijah is given three commissions but two of them Elisha does instead. The Josiah story has huldah promise Josiah a peaceful death. However a small blurb at the end of the chapter has Josiah die in battle.

i used to comment here many years ago when i had an interest in biblical research in relation to jehovah’s witnesses.

these days my biblical research is little concerned with jehovah’s witnesses.

i feel my time is better spent researching the diachronistic development of the biblical text and ascertaining what the biblical writers and editors intended in the times in which they lived.. i have recently placed a summary diagram for a paper that i have written with original research entitled the narrative structure of the hexaemeron on academia.edu.

1. I have interacted with scholars and their students. This message board and others accuse JWs of being in a cult. But said to say that is often the mentality with the majority of qualified biblical schoolers. They are so set in place by the establishment that they find themselves unable to question themselves their research and the work of their colleagues. As such what often happens is the majority of their papers look the same with minor changes and 100 pre assumed assumptions built into their work.

2. As for the NWT the 2013 version is crap. The 1984 version however from an academic standpoint is one of the best. Jason Beduhn has written extensively on this. Now fundamentalists might have issues but these are people who think that snakes talk.

it's been a long time since i last posted here.

however in light of recent changes i have thought a bit about things and have come to the conclusion that the society might.

It's been a long time since I last posted here. However in light of recent changes I have thought a bit about things and have come to the conclusion that the society might. .. Use the "evil slave" argument. Let me give an example:

"OK brothers blood transfusions are a conscience matter, "

"How dare you! People have died!"

"Yes it is sad brothers. It was the evil slave of Rutherford and Knorr and Franz that f**D us up. But worry not. We booted Tony Morris. We are the new good slave. Just as 2 Peter says evil men crept in unaware. But that time has past Armageddon is closer and Jesus is refining us."

Niw with a statement like I've shown above I would think legal ramifications regarding issues in changing blood or child abuse issues can be blamed on the evil slave or past leaders. Meanwhile the society goes semi-mainstrean.
