Pagan Origins
by Illuminated inwhy are jw's not allowed to do certain things because they have "pagan origins", yet the very same roof over their head and the the food they place into their mouth is purchased through money with pagan origins on it?
pagan symbolism is all over money.
so if the wt leaders are so against paganism, why are they insisting "jehovah's" earthly organization needs pagan money to sustain itself, yet disfellowshipping members if they cross the line into paganism?.

Thanks all, i love this site. i have talked with both our sons about the bad parts of the borg. i will take him to the b-day party.
i just sit and wait for the hammer to drop. it will only drop 2 ways.
1. she will want a divorce because i am an apostate.
2. she will see the borg for what it is ( a cult) and has my youner son says. she and we will drift away from the cult.
i know am betting on option 1. but, the hammer will drop and we will be nothing more than another watchtower statistic.

yep, enter cult mode.....i hate this freaking cult. she gave him this guilt trip that it would hurt her feelings if he went. i then told her. what about his feelings. I told her i am not going to take away his childhood...like her childhood was taken away. she said it would eventualy come out to the elders. i said...well they better not approach me, not unless they are ready to get an ass kicking.
i told her that she follows man just like the catholics worship the pope. and to show me scriptually where birthdays are not to be celebrated. i told her the rule was made up by man not the bible.
i told her that getting involved with this religion was the worse mistake i evermade. i just hate this cult soooooo much. it has ruined my marraige.
aghhhhhhhh

Regarding changes and my poor mother!
by username inwell i just got off the phone with mother (thankfully she has no part in the shunning policy) and she thinks the changes are "marverless" this i would imagine is the general consensus of most hardcore rank and file!
she is even investing in a roku device so she can watch more indoctrination programming.
to be honest i wouldn't even try make her think, because she has far to much invested in the cult.

I am with you, i don't even try to talk with my wife about any of the shite from the BORG. if she brings it up..i try not to response. it only ends up in an arguement.
i have better things to do than waste my time arguing.
but, i do hope she opens her eyes one day and see's it for what it is. " A CULT"

are there really 8 million jw's?
by wannaexit inlast circuit assembly there was 700+ present and 1 baptized.. recently there was a foreign language assemble of over 500 and 1 baptized.. in the last 5-10 years i haven't been to one assembly where there has been more than a handful baptized.
at the memorial all i see are the same old faces that have been coming since the flood.. the hall complex i attend has 6 congregation and several groups-there is negative growth.
when you factor in the demographically aging folk and the many who have already passed away, i don't know where they get the 8 million.. i know that most of the growth is from the developing countries, but still i think they are fudging their numbers.

I am with you....i think they fudge the numbers. unfortunately i still have to go...but rest assured. me and my boys are mentally out.
anywho.....it would say the average number at the hall my wife goes to is ~35 zombies and of those.....i would say that the majority are over 60 yrs old. (poor lost souls)
i just don't get where they get there numbers from
