thinking of leaving

i am 46 and have been a jw for only 6 years.

i was doing ok until about a month ago.

we were having an international convention and i heard the brother that had to pick up 2 of the members of the governing body had to get a background check done on him and his wife.

Need help understanding scriptues in Mathew. just trying to show my wife the BORG is soooo wrong

as you know i am still in but have no strong conviction for this cult..but i still go because my wife is still asleep to the false teachings.

for a few months now...when we have family study it is stricly from the bible.

which is great, while we study we are taking the bible as it is, i think it is opening her eyes and how important jesus is.

BTW....we are only studying the new testament. so the questions i have are below: 1st question: in Matt 17:1-7 the apostles had a vision where jesus with moses and elijah. when we read this my wife said, i thought they were not anointed? I said well here it shows there spirit is in heaven and with jesus. so obiously they are in heaven as far as being anointed i am not sure. because according to the JW teaching the anointing started at pentecost 33ce. therefore Moses and elijah should not be present according to the JW's. Of course there teaching is wrong and Moses and Elijah are in heaven. would i be correct in my observation

2nd question: so during our family study we came accross Matt 18:10 where it talks about being like a child when serving God. and then there it was talking about our angels. So my children asked. Do we have guardian angles? I looked at my wife and she started to say no....and i stopped her and said. well the bible says we do. how could we challenge what the bible says. She was so suprised because she was always taught we did have guardian angels. he next statement was ....well don't worship them. and I said well of course not. but you can't take the fact away that we have guardian angels. My question is to is...was i way off base? i am just analyzing the bible as it is and not trying to read more into it than is there.

3rd question: so we were in Matt 19:28 and here we see that the disciples are told what there reward was for being faithful to Jesus. the 12 disciples are going to sit on 12 thrones and judge the 12 tribes. i pointed this out to my wife and said this corrilates to Rev 7:1-8 where it talkes about the 144,000 and more specific where the 144000 come from. I am under the impression that 12 disciples came from those tribes and the remaining are from those tribes. So in reality if the 144000 that are susposed to exist today living or dead should come from those tribes. So the GB members who are there better be from one of the 12 tribes....those lying bastards. am I way off base on my analysis? thanks for your time GTTM

3rd Update on Fading

ok well i have updated you about the dilemma about my wife and family and more recently about the elders trying to schedule a shepherding call.. on our way back from th international convention she basically told me if i were to leave that we should go our seperate ways.. so i took a few days and thought about it.

it seems she was more mad about my waffling back and forth and going to the hall sometimes and just not making up my mind.. today i gave her a proposal- i will stop going all together unless it it an assembly or convention or memorial for her.. we will not discuss religious topics, as this is where most of our arguments have been centered around, at all.. we will support all of each others endeavors besides religious intrests.

i will talk to my family and let them know my intentions without getting into an details next month because my mother keeps calling me about it.

i keep from going insane at the meeting by:

1. reading the scriptures as a whole and then leaning over to my wife and showing how wrong the references is to how the study is trying to present it. causing her to give me a dirty look and then i laughing inside. after i show her these thing....I then tell her how much i love her. it called positive re-enforcement training for what i teach.

2. looking at the sheeple nod there heads in agreement and laughing inside and wondering what each of there I.Q.'s are. my guess is the average JW ZOMBIE is around 80-89 which is low average mentality.

3. take my son's out to breaks and in a low key way tell them how wrong the teaching are and tell them how much i love them. positive re-enforcement for what i teach.

you know...a good thing is. we are always late for the meetings. my wife could not make it on time to save her life. and we both don't have a problem missing.

Hi Blondie, correct me if I am wrong....but wasn't Jesus talking about the fall of Jerusalem? That already happened correct? I have always gotten the impression the BORG pulls out these scriptures and tries to apply them to today. To me this is the BORG adding more to what already there....of which the bible says not to do.

so talking with my wife last night...i was explaining to her about a conversation i had with a person at work about end times.

he has a strange belief that some scriptures in isaiah perdict something huge is going to happen in september of 2015. she then states that no one can predict the future only the father knows and he is in a cult.

lol on the inside.. i then stated "what about 1914 and the dubs perdiction and what it means today" she said no there was never any predictions.

I asked a local elder to explain the generation shite. I also gave this face like WTFFFFFFFFF. I then asked him...."so what are you going to do when it get changed?" he then said....."oh no, this will never be changed" again the face WTFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!
