I've not run across any WT literature anywhere, but I definately would trash it if I did. When I was an uber-dub I did use to trash the porn magazines that were left laying in the bathroom at work. LOL
What a shame. At least porn mags help you find some release...all the WT/Asleep! mags do is keep everyone repressed and beaten down.

im even seeing memes posted all over instagram from jw mocking it.. here is my question, why are the things written so different from how the gb members, like anthony morris are?
i know the gb dont actually write the stuff but i was under the impression that they come up with the spiritual light pass if off to the writing committee and they put it in the publications.
Londo nailed it. The writing is public, the talks aren't supposed to be, and this one especially so. You can record a convention for your sick wife to be able to benefit, but they made no such allowance in their "no recordings" disclaimer. This time they went to great detail in the disclaimer and even forbade sharing your notes with anyone.
As for the clear circular logic (that boils down to - it's not my oppinion, for proof look at my oppinion written under a pseudonym!) I don't think many noticed. The JWs are trained to view the WT magazine as being on the same level as the bible, as if it's from god himself. So instead of seeing a man quoting from his own writings, they see a man quoting god.
someone mentioned this in a post and i feel the need to make this theory its own thread.. i think that this past zone visit was intended to be that weird!
i think it was a test of faith in this regard, are you loyal enough to ignore the crazyness of all that was stated?
what if they are setting up for radical changes and are testing the waters to see if this current group of jdubs are going to readily drink the kool aid?.
I don't know....After watching AMIII and Herd, I feel much less inclined to think that there's any kind of master plan in play. It seems more like they're just egomaniacal narcisists making it up as they go based on their whims.
Either way, though, I think the result is going to be the same - it's only getting crazier from here.

I would, but it would require that I go to the store and buy some socks expressly for this purpose, which would probably be damaging to what I'm trying to accomplish with my wife (i.e. it would put me squarely in the "defiant attitude" box which isn't where I want to be).
I'm thinking of going the other direction and wearing white socks with a black suit. When questioned I can just say I wasn't sure where to draw the line on colorful socks, so I just went colorless.

i can't remember the topic with the discussion about the talk where they suggested that sisters should only consider ministerial servants as potential marriage partners but think about the implications more.. are they trying to use the potential affections of sisters to enourage brothers to do more and work harder?.
isn't this a form of 'pimping out' the sisters by limiting their attention to the people contributing to them?.
it seems to cross a line to me but i guess it's not vastly different to "only marry another jw".. what do you think?.
Yeah, I think you guys nailed his intended message. That wasn't directed to women, it was directed to the young men.
In the end, though, I don't think it'll help even a little bit with the retention of youth. It will lead to marriages based on status, which will invariably be unhappy. It will lead to the "spiritually weak" young men to be forced to hang out with "spiritually weak" young women and that's a combination for a JC to be sure. The rest, who will ignore AMIII's comments entirely, already have one foot out the door.

I dump any magazines that I can. Most of the ones I throw away, though, are the extras that I take from the literature desk for just that purpose.
i'm not going to list all the changes here that have happened in 2014, most of you who frequent the boards know about them.. in reference to anthony morris' talk, i can't help feel that the organization is behaving so abnormally out of character for itself that it is bewildering even to ex jws.. cultish behavior is perfectly normal for cults, but whats happened this year is so far out of whack it beggars belief.. what do they think they are doing?
are they psyching jws up for some major announcement?.
i can't help but feel that something really strange is going on, this does not feel like the regular "special announcements" followed by articles in the watchtower.. .
Some times, my friends, it seems the WT is its own worst enemy. And it seems especially so the "higher" the speaker is.
If that doesn't give you a hint that something is fundamentally wrong, nothing will.
Also, I think tony could stand to get a little higher, if you know what I mean. That man needs to relax.

i was reading an article from a '95 wt called "watch out for self righteousness" it exposes amiii as a true pharisee by their own definition.
the style and content sound a lot like ray franz but it obviously was not.
i am confident you would never see an article like this in todays wt land.
Good find. The hipocrisy is astounding. The fact that they're constantly criticising christendom for their hipocrisy only adds an extra level of irony.
I honestly think that this branch visit has induced in me the greatest level of absolute disgust that I've ever experienced. Disgust doesn't even seem strong enough a word right now.
