Interesting. Some of the rules specfically exclude religions ourganizations:
"The following provisions of the not-for-profit corporation law
shall not apply to religious corporations..."

by OUTLAW in.. the new wbt$ donation arrangement/ jw kingdom hall bank account theft... is a very hot topic right now... the wbt$ is literally going to clean out kingdom hall bank accounts,filled with donations from jws... that theft is going to happen world wide..the wbt$ is going to steal from 7 million plus jw`s... .. we have jw elders here on jwn,that know whats going on... they "serve" in kingdom halls,they are "supposed" to be looking after the welfare of the average jw... they know there is a 4 page letter,only one page will be read to the congregation..the rest will be kept secret... they know the wbt$ is about to steal jw donations..on a world wide scale!!!...
.. i would like to know what you active jw elders are going to do about this??!!...
are you going to let "your" congregation know about the other 3 secret pages?...

I have to wonder if this new Nonprofit Rivitalization Act which forces and independent audit on the WT corporation will find them operating out side the guideline of a legitimate charity over this robbery of funds from the rank and file.
It must seem awful on the audited books no matter how they much they cook their books. I'm sure this whole mess can be untangled with a good independent audit, designed to bring back trust into charities by forced transparency.
Conflict of Interests Policies
The Revitalization Act requires all nonprofit corporations and charitable trusts to adopt a written conflict
of interests policy. The law requires that the policy contain these provisions:
a definition of the circumstances that constitute a conflict of interest;
procedures for disclosing a conflict to the audit committee or the board;
a requirement that a person with a conflict not be present at or participate in board or
committee deliberations or vote on the matter creating conflict;
a prohibition against any attempt by a person with a conflict to improperly influence
the deliberation or vote;
a requirement that the existence and resolution of a conflict be documented in the
organization’s records, including in the minutes of any meeting where the conflict
was discussed; and
procedures for disclosing, addressing, and documenting related-party transactions.
Also, the Revitalization Act adds a requirement to the law that before a director is elected to a board of
a nonprofit corporation, and annually thereafter, the director must submit a signed statement to the
board secretary identifying all of the entities of which the director is an officer, director, trustee,
member, owner or employee, and any transaction in which the corporation and director might have a
conflict of interest. -

One of the great values of the internet is that it gets you in touch with people who don't agree with you all the time and you get to see other points of view not your own.
With that said I have to wonder just what type of internet experience the Governing Body are having with all this free floating sea of ideas called the internet? Probably very limited so as not to shake themselves from that Ivory Tower(God's Organization pipe dream) they live in.

two weeks ago we run an article about the abuse case in moston manchester congregation .it would seem that the coverage from the main local newspaper manchester evening news and two national newspapers has alarmed the charity commission the official regulator for charities in england and wales and now for the first time !
they opened an official investigation on both charities ,the local one ,moston congragation and the central one jehovah's witnesses of britain indicating that in their eyes these two are connected and liable for any misconduct .this is the time for a concentrated campaign from all of us to inform the charity commission why the watchtower should not be a called a charity .the article above has a link for the charity commission complaint page .follow it!.
