  do we obsess about the jw org?

  i admit i do.

  the reason is that two of my offspring are still held hostages by the beliefs of the cult..

  I'm not sure.    Someone could argue that the old WT insignia was an idol as well.   I think the standard J-Dub answer would be that the jW.org insignia isn't worshiped or used in worship like the cross is.  It's just an identifier. I'm not defending it though. I think it's all a stupid rebranding effort. But an idol???  My thought would be no.

  i was deleted as the cobe after i let my adult child move back home and he admitted that he fornicated under my roof while my wife and i where away on a rbc project.

  of course the elder mode in me kicked him out of the house.. the elders moved quickly to remove me because i was too involved in "theocractic activities", i had neglected my adult son.. i accepted this primarily because i didn't want to serve with a boe that did not want me.

  i was devastated however because it was the only life i knew.

  A quick summary of topics and issues wrong with jws

  you know how our minds often get all "fuzzy" and confused when we are put on the spot and asked to come up with points?

  we often tend to lose focus and go off on tangents?.

  im trying to compile a basic list of bullet points for the most obvious and clear problems / doctrines / history of witnesses that can blow the org out of the water.. it is more for the purpose of getting my own thoughts clear rather than using it to talk to witnesses (as that doesn't really work).

  They destroy families.     Any witness can look around their local KH and count how many parents don't talk to all of their kids.

  i have former jws looking at jwfacts.com in order to update themselves with what is happening with the religion, so that they can better understand their jw family.

  it thought it would help if there was a page devoted to what has changed since 2000. .

  2012 oct release of jw.org - jws encouraged to download their own publications and use ipads at meetings and field service.

  my mom called me yesterday to ask how i was doing.

  i hadn't seen her in a while, so it was nice to hear her voice.

  we went through the motions of jw small talk and then she started telling me about her co visit from last week.

  Juan, that all seems very plausible. Another issue with rural areas is that the population is getting older. The rural halls that I have visited in northern Michigan have almost all retirees. As they die off there really isn't any new blood to replace them.

  That would be great.     The problem is that WT isn't nearly as interesting as Scientology.    Scientology is fascinating, weird, crazy, and has lots of famous members.

  My life by the numbers..

  i have enjoyed this site long enough, that i thought it was time to start giving back.

  it's been a reflective few days as i tried to quantify the passage of time.

  how time flies.... i turn 55 this year- and life is amazing!it was last year i reached out to one of my siblings via email to see if i could visit my mom beforeshe passes as she is over 90 now and the response i got was that it was too painful for herto see me until "i do the right thing"it was 5 years ago that i was able to finally become whole from all the anger and pain and normalize my life.it was 33 years ago that i was df'd.
