My family always read ours. Was not a big deal. I imagine other dub families might have viewed it differently.

After twenty years of marriage…
by John Aquila ini just got a call from a friend who informed me that a brother whom i've known for a while and is an elder, just found out last night that his wife of 20+ years declared she was gay, and left him..
i still need to confirm but my friend is very reliable and was close friends with the family.
heres the thing, she spent 20+ years with this man, has children with him and now decides she wants to follow her heart.

I really don't think that I would be upset. It would feel somewhat surreal. If somebody is gay why would I want them to stay with me if they weren't happy. -

The elders are taking this bullshit to heart at my hall. There aren't really any "brothers" reaching out. I'm not looking forward to them asking me what my spiritual goals are as the article instructed them to do. I hated this article. I just want to be left alone. -

Kudos to you People Who support your Spouse Suffering Meeting Attendance
by smiddy ini was inspired to post this because so many of you lovingly support your spouse by going to meetings conventions etc .knowing the crap your going to have to put up with , hoping that someday he/she will wake up to the bs.. and your willing to do this for as long as it takes .i take my hat off to you all.. it must take a lot of intestinal fortitude and love to do that .. smiddy.

I don't really feel that this is something that I should be praised for. I still go but it feels really hypocritical to me. By sitting in that chair it feels like I am giving my support to the Borg. I just don't see any other viable way forward at the moment and I definitly do love my wife and kids. -

the speaker made a big point of stating that any baptized jw male who was not either appointed ms/elder, or at the very least "reaching out" actively, was in fact following jesus at a distance.
he said that the only way to live through the big a was to follow jesus closely.

baptism regional Convention
by antes8080 inhello friends during the weekend i was in the san diego regional convention and the number of baptisim was way down.. there were 51 who got baptise thats the lowest number i ever seen, the attendance was 14,000 plus .

2200 attendance
13 baptized If you extrapolate the numbers you have 2 CAs and one RC a year. In our area they are all about the same size. The CAs usually have about 7 baptized I have been keeping track. That would equal about 27 newly baptized . Out of the 2200 I figure about 1500 are baptized. So 30 would allow for 1% dying and still give you a 1% growth. This doesn't account for losing some to disfellowshippong or the fact that dubs are older and may be dying faster than 1% a year. The growth is definitly not taking place in English speaking America
