The elders of the 1980s are now in their 60s and 70s
by truthseeker inhaving just come back from the uk and spoke with some witnesses to find out how my old congregation is doing, i realized i am now the age that my elders were when i was a kid.
and i wonder what the elders who are now in their 60s and 70s are thinking when they look in the mirror and an old face looks back at them.
many of the elders in my old hall are now retired.

Yes they do. At least for the most part. Totally deluded. -

JW org: all take and no give?
by Half banana injust a thought here, prompted by oppostates thread on magazine money owed to the org..
if an average congregation coughs up $3500 per year just on mags alone... and there are 114,416 congs world-wide; that would mean that jw suckers are feeding the ravenous maw of the org by $400,456,000 (heading towards half a billion dollars) each year.
this does not include other literature, or ...money so cleverly pledged in perpetuity for khs that the punters will never own even if they pay for them and build them, not to mention the vast income from property appreciation and major stock investments... and then there is the shameless raiding of family inheritances plus other sundry monies gifted to them..

That $3500 number is way off. Our hall sends in about $1000 a month to the WWW plus 200 for the new fund. I would say that our hall is very average. -

The Organization's Incredible Growth?
by James Smith infor those who have attended the 2015 district/regional convention (or know someone who has), could you please provide the location, and attendance for one session (preferably the highest for the entire assembly), and the number of newly baptized?
i am wishing to do a brief statistical analysis of potential changes in the size of the org.
thank you in advance for the data provided.

Punk
at my hall I'm guessing 1. Me. I don't think that many are awake At least not yet. I do think it's coming though. Death by 1000 cuts. I think the Borg is close to the tipping point.

Our hall isn't empty but it def isn't growing. Just very stagnant. And very old. Extrapolate out 20 years and the Borg is in major trouble. -

Australian Branch Stats?
by Marvin Shilmer ini'm working on some statistical analysis of child abuse data made public by the royal commission.
while i'm working on this, can someone here do me a favor and look up the peak publisher figures reported by watchtower for the australian branch for each of the years from 2005 through 2014?
my thanks in advance.

Very interesting info. I wonder what the difference between 1st and 3rd world countries would be As far as abuse numbers. I would expect it to be higher in 3rd world countries but under reported.
It seems that in every case you used the most moderate numbers possible. with that in mind the actual numbers most likely exceed your analysis. Thanks for your hard work You obviously have a knack for number crunching.

Nothing here in the U.S. I pointed it out to my mom and then her and my dad read an article on it. But beyond that. NOTHING.
