Great post Pete Z! I agree with you on that 100%. I'm curious what's going on with them financially, but in reality there is no way they are going bankrupt. -

Any funny stories of when a"brother" giving a talk, said something "funny" or "questionable", and didn't even realize it?
by Dunedain inthere were always all types of speakers in the org.
myself, growing up a "witness", must have heard all types of talks, and given by all manner of speakers, especially on sundays, when almost every week we would get a "visiting" brother giving the public talk.. sometimes, you would have a "great" speaker, all fluent and animated.
other times we would get a comical speaker, one who would maybe purposelly get a few laughs outta the audience.

Saw a brother who was maybe a little off give the announcements. He started with "I have a special treat in store for you all tonight". He then proceeded to sing the announcements. It was fantastic! Needless to say, this was his last assignment. -

1. Apostate websites. (Everyday)
2. Pound pud. (Most days)
3. Go downtown on my wife. (Once in a while)
4. Watch r rated movies. (Whenever I want)
5. Imbibe to an excess. (Less often than I use to)
I guess that's it. All in all I'm pretty boring.

Construction Halts & other cutbacks - Here's what I think happened
by Listener into get to the point straight away i think the crane accident that occurred at warwick was a significant catalyst that has caused the org.
to change its plans suddenly.. list of assumptions, not all of them are validated.
- there was a serious crane accident that occurred at warwick approx.

That sounds miserable. I'm not sure that I could stay in a situation like that. Is separation an option? -

Mobile Hotspot - JWFACTS.COM - Assembly & Conventions
by thedepressedsoul inhere is an idea i tested.
works at both assemblies and conventions.
i have noticed at the last convention and at my last assembly that when i opened up my wifi setting, tons of hotspots came up for people tethering their tablets to their smart phones.

Earliest Life on Earth Pushed Back Another 300 Million Years
by cofty inresearchers have found evidence of ancient microorganisms that lived in what is now western australia at least 4.1 billion years ago.
if confirmed, the discovery suggests that life originated on earth 300 million years earlier than previously thought.
.... the ancient microorganisms in question were found trapped inside zircons formed from magma in western australia.

I am hoping that in our lifetime we will find out that DNA is common to the universe. -

Asking For More Money Again
by rosesinbloom inwe had another letter read this week from the 'slave' that asked for more money again.. it asked for a resolution to be passed by all congregations in support of the circuit overseer to pay their expenses and medical expense was included in there.. a resolution was put on the floor and voted upon and agreed by show of hands that our congregation would send over $2,000 for the year 2016.. the society broke it down to how much it would be per year for each publisher but i do not remember what they suggested.. i was glad i was listening in and not present this week because it would have been obvious i did not support the resolution because my hand would not have been up when the attendance took a count.. has anyone here also had the letter read at their service meeting this week?.

This was read at our hall as well and it was the same $15 amount. This was for two separate funds. I think the abbreviations were GAA and TOAA. One is for CO cars and health care and the other was for the worldwide insurance fund. The CO car and health care seems legitimate. But the insurance fund seems bogus to me. I don't know the amount per publisher for last year but I am pretty sure that this years is higher.
