  in recent news articles it's been suggested that properties currently up for sale in brooklyn will fetch around $1,000,000,000.

  just how significant is this kind of money to the wtbts?

  my estimation is that would be the equivalent to 3 years worth of donations from every us witness.

  In recent news articles it's been suggested that properties currently up for sale in Brooklyn will fetch around $1,000,000,000. Just how significant is this kind of money to the WTBTS? My estimation is that would be the equivalent to 3 years worth of donations from every US witness. That's figuring on each pub donating $27/month to the organization. (This seems about right not counting what they donate to the local hall). This is a ton of money. It could pay 1000 molestation cases at 1 million a piece.

  ten years ago i first came here all in turmoil over my disillusionment of my beliefs.

  I can feel your pain my brother. I also have two kids under 5 and soon enough we will be a divided household. One thing I have come to appreciate is that there is no concrete right decision to make. We make a decision and then try to make the best of that situation. I wish you and tour family the best.

  Basic Principles for Forum Moderation

  a perennial issue for any online forum is moderation and applying rules.

  we have a set of community guidelines and posting guidelines that are intended to make clear what is and isn't acceptable but this tends to focus on the obvious standards of behavior for, well, obvious reasons.

  it's easy to talk about people being aggressive or insulting etc... as those are common and clearly unwanted behaviors and the typical issue for online communities - the most likely things to come up.. does this mean that everything *not* on the list is allowed?

  1. COC is an amazing book. I was already partially awake, it def helped me to fully snap out of the trance. I have not read ISOCF.

  2. I am glad this book was available online for free. In my barely awakened state there is no way I would have searched it out at a library or other source. I didn't know it was an illegal copy as it was on a well known iPad app. I wish some exjdub philanthropist with deep pockets and some know how would buy the rights and make it available freely to all. It's an incredibly valuable book to witnesses who are starting to wake up,

  3. It seems that Ray made a poor judgement call in who he left the rights to this book too. I have no doubt that she is a terrific person but obviously she has little publishing knowledge. I think I am a really good person and a great friend but if someone left me publishing rights to a book I would have no idea what to do with it.

  hi guys - new poster here.

  i was brought up a jw in the uk and stopped going not long after i was married.

  that was 20 years ago so i'm not really up to date with the current doctrinal flip flops or the new youtube obsessed gb.. came across this site while googling the name of a local elder who's just been convicted of possesion of a pc full of unpleasant pics of kids.. so, my question.

  Landy, thanks for the post. I am one of those who are stuck in and you are right it is brutal. For me, my family (wife and two young kids) are all that matter. My wife is still fully indoctrinated so I am taking it slow. This is a real sticky religion and my goal is to leave with as little collateral damage as possible.
