In retrospect, that was one of the first changes to the new JW.org and the killing of the religion as we knew it.
agreed!
its not like there was anything wrong with them was there?
i used to love the old ones.
these new ones feel like the equivalent of a deflated balloon.. does anyone have the answer?.

Awesome OP Terry... also your idea of a book with just all contradictory quotes reminds me of that "Quote site" the the WT$ took down and stole the domain through intimidation tactics. My first thoughts of waking up was when I first discovered that site. Even though I was totally indoctrinated at the time I reasoned that the site couldn't be considered "apostate" when only WT$ content was presented.
That sad affair reminded me of the "golden rule" WT$ style... "he who has the gold rules..."
the wife and i had a argument of all things, the correct way.
to peel an egg.. i'm making tuna salad and she comes up.
and looking over my shoulder, "you know that's not the correct.
Man is the head woman is the neck... guess what controls the head?
this is what wt has been producing, this had my bottom jaw on the carpet while i was watching (like the footloose one).
and they say there different from other religions yeah right!!.
i hope this link works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vahglagd2i.
"They said there would be competition and hurt feelings among the brothers and sisters as to "who was best" or "who wasn't good enough to be allowed into the chior or orchestra" (this was a problem back when there used to be an orchestra at the assemblies).
They said a spirit of competition much like is found in Christendoms churches began to enter in among the "friends". Jealousy and resentment crept in..."
Plenty of that to go around over skilless achievments now...
like they say in the movies, "follow the money.
" the thought occurred to me the other day - the wt scam rakes in billions of dollars, and yeah some of that goes to operations and equipment.
but bethelites at farm and factory get only a bare little dorm room and a monthly pittance.
I have seen both ends of the spectrum at the low levels of the society, from DOs down. DOs and COs take a vow of poverty and a long time back were forced to give up their motor-homes/5th wheels and room in publishers homes. That didn't last long and then apartments were being built in each circuit for them. So pretty much everything the RF struggles for is provided for them.
One DO really impressed me at an elders mtng at our 2day convention. He was one of the best speakers I have ever heard and a real down to earth person. A few of the elders were doting over him with complements each out doing the previous with praise and he said, in so many words, You brothers paid to fly me out here, put me up with great accommodations, feed me well, buy my clothes etc. I had better give good talks. That is All I have to do! I do not have to worry about anything. So knock this stuff off!
The other end of the spectrum was a CO who was serving our congregation and was passing around and offering for "donations" gemstones that he cut himself. The guy was a real pompous arse, and I confronted him about it in front of a group of publishers he was working during lunch.... this guy also tried to get me to make up stuff for an assembly part.
I would imagine at the upper levels we should expect at least some shenanigans and abuse of funds going on by some one or a tight group of individuals. Past that who knows. With the WTS track record as far as doctrine/prophesy, white washing their own history, and dishonest editorial, name calling/demonizing, abuse of the membership when it suites them and lack of transparency it wouldn't surprise me if things were much worse.
this weekend we visited the convention.
my findings:.
- no jw.org marketing here at this moment.
Attended Sacramento RC which was connected to Detroit. Sat and Sun only. Overall boring... Sun was definatley targeting emotions. Mooris and Lett are both weird... Lett more so. But the real annoying speaker was the "GB helper" Shaffer. When expounding on Isa 9:6 he referred to Jesus mistakenly as "All Mighty God" instead of "Mighty God", which he quickly corrected while having a smirk on his face as if everyone was to dumb to catch it. A real cyborg IMHO.
if a person says that they are not willing to meet with the elders or does not meet with them, will that get them df'ed?
there is a rumor about a person who has left the truth (went inactive) about being imoral.
they do not have the 2 person witness so they can't take actions because of this.
2 witnesses or a confession is the rule (sometimes not followed). If a JC has been formed they have the 2 witnesses (if playing by the book). If only one witness then 2 bro. will be assigned to investigate, look for other witnesses and/or get a confession from you. This is how things were done the 10 years I was an E... things may have changed since '09 and the new flock book.
i am sure this topic has probably been discussed many times before but,......... i would like reassurance that i am not the only one who gagged every time i heard a jw pontificating on their fantasy version of what "paradise" will be like.
particularly when it comes to the animals.
more specifically, that the animals will all become vegetarians.
My dad was explaining how all the animals would be in peace and not eat each other in the pardise to my little brother (he was 7 or 8). No killing or death. My little brother looked at him and asked "what are the buzzards going to eat?" My dad was speachless at first then came the pat answer, "will have to wait on J and see." lol
an elder in my cong.
test drove a new a car and was entered in this contest to win a new hot tub.
i don't know if he had to enter to was just.
Entering a free drawing or raffle is JW approved... purchasing a ticket for a chance to win would qualify as a JW sin and require at least a tongue lashing or more.
....... then why wouldn't the wtbt$ easily make the entire program, complete with rockstar gb's, cheesy dramas, etc, available on youtube or some other free or almost free web streaming service?
obviously it is a huge burden for a majority of the "friends" to attend a regional convention and many either cannot go or it takes all of our their funds (or borrowed funds) to be able to make it.
how about all the "friends" that are morbidly obese, infirm, have extreme health conditions, have unbelieving mates, or have mental issues which prevent them from attending a convention?
Login required... not public or for RF JWs... Servants only?
Thanks for the info though... I think I can still use it.
