  I donated because I thought it helped others. Then I realized that everyone has to pay for their KHs and AHs, no one gets one built for free. How stupid of me! So I stopped, donating that is.

  Two Year Delay in Building New KHs - What Is the Real Impact?

  where are all these kingdom halls that were going to start being built?

  the rbc arrangement was officially announced as an arrangement that was ending in the united states branch territory in a letter on january 24, 2014 (although this letter is no longer listed on jw.org).

  this means that 23 months have passed since the announcement of the ldc taking over and "acceleration" of kingdom hall builds.. what has happened in the meantime with kh construction?

  RBC worked and worked well as far as I could tell. If it isn't broke why fix it. They could of instituted the new "donation expense" arrangement while keeping the RBCs in place without missing a beat. Every cong I know is keeping up with the new arrangement so the money is going some where. Maybe it is just being rat-holed.

  at the beginning of the may broadcast stephen lett said this was a historic broadcast.

  he explained that every member of the governing body had hosted a show and they were starting over again.

  that was all the explanation he gave.

  with all the conversations, and truly distractions, of shortfalls and money problems - sell off about 1.2 billion of highly valued, tax exempt, property in brooklyn ny and build an ehhh 500 million property upstate.

  They are not transparent with anyone. Not each other, their members or government agencies. Everyone is on an "as need to know" basis. If you don't need to know, it is alright manipulate and lie to you if necessary, is even part of their doctrine. Basically "the end justifies the means" is their thinking.

  When you parallel that evidence with the flip flop of doctrine, cherry picking, miss quotes, sanitation of their history etc. I have concluded they can't be trusted at any level. Now throw in lots of $$$ and you have a recipe for corruption.

  ie: At the local hall thousands of dollars were donated to the box marked "local building fund" and earmarked for remolding. This box existed long enough to remodel twice in 20 years without going in debt. This money was kept in a savings account. Then the savings was closed and the money was placed on deposit with WTS. Dubs were assured from the platform that the money was easily accessible and safe there. Then the "new arrangement", the "local building fund" box disappears. The local kh now accepts a $500 monthly expense to the kh fund. The money on deposit was donated to WTS. Multiply this by thousands of congregations.... A giant shell game of moving the money around making it easier to lose track of and siphon off to things it was never donated for.

  At this point nothing would surprise me.
  

  I am now left with figuring out how to untie my hands from behind my back, and slip this noose off my neck that is tied to my JW family tree before someone kicks the stool from under my feet.

  The Ages Of The Biblical Patriarchs

  so i've been reading the imitate their faith book (because my wife wants to) and keep coming upon these ridiculous ages for the bible patriarchs.

  now i know wt takes everything literally but there has got to be some explanation that makes more sense.

  why would the bible writers create these obviously false ages?

  So Adam's sin just made him just a "little" imperfect and the rest of us are much more imperfect... except for Methuselah who was a little less imperfect than Adam since he lived longer. I always wondered how long Eve or some of the first women lived? Such believable stories.
