Indiana "Religious Freedom" (right to discriminate)
by Simon insickening to see the photo of the religious zealots all stood around the governor signing into law the right for people to discriminate against others (gay, lesbian, trans-gender) based purely on religious dogma.. if religious people want those freedoms then the can't have it both ways - they cannot complain if *they* are discriminated against.. "sorry, we don't like zionists, get out".
"oh, it's some special mass and you can't work your shift?
you're fired!"..

When I had a business I had a sign on the door that said "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone." This was applied several times to people who had bounced checks on me in the past unless they paid with cash of-course. I was not prejudice against poor people. I feel a privately owned business has the right to refuse service to anyone offset by the fact that the customer has the right to refuse to deal with a business. Morals and laws are two different things that conflict at times. If I was required by law to engage in a business arrangement that went against my conscience then I would choose not to be in that business. However sometimes laws are enacted after a business has been established for years that the owner of the business doesn't realize or has trouble with. The circumstances have to be considered in the context of many variables. If someone doesn't want to be involved in a business transaction with someone while at the same time still providing that service to others doesn't always mean they are being discriminatory. -

Asshole Atheism – Not for me, now or ever.
by donny into start off with let me clarify that by asshole atheism i am not referring to strong atheism or any other type of upfront atheism.
what i am referring to is the belligerent, hateful atheism that smacks of trolls and other types who want to derail conversation or comments at any cost..
i enjoy hearing comments from both sides of the subjects of theism, nationalism or politics, especially from those who have intense opinions.

@ crofty your right, a bit off topic. Posted it to give an example of how scientific data is sometimes manipulated to push an agenda.
@ njw no political affiliations here.

Their delusion run-ith over in today WT study rag mag.
by Crazyguy ini noticed that in paragraph 13 they mention the girl sheryl that i believe was the same girl that was in their video about the typhoon that hit the philippines back in 2013. they talk as if she's so happy and thankful to jehovah even mention that she lost most of her family in that typhoon.
what they don't mention was her family members that were killed in that typhoon were inside a kh thinking they were going to be protected by jehovah since they were in gods house and his people and all.
they also fail to mention that the government authorities were telling people to get out of town but the elders were most likely telling the people in their congregations to stick around and just come to the hall.

That typhoon happened because they were behind schedule printing the silver swords so no bad weather was allowed in that vicinity. All the weather energy was pushed into the southern hemisphere temporarily. -

Dating processes why the big differences?
by Crazyguy ini watched a documentary last night where they found old bones and spear heads in mexico.
this work was originally started in the 60s but they went back over the decades.
the main researcher dated the items at about 20,000 years old.

The history of the Hueyatlaco archaeological site has been controversial from the very beginning. This in fact is what makes it so interesting. Renown scientist from many fields have been on both sides of this issue since the 1960s. The debate may be unwarranted or not (depending on your views) but the documentary draws attention to the debate which is an established event in modern history. Much of what is in the documentary can be found on Wikipedia but in the documentary you actually get to see interviews with some of the people involved with the events. This in itself gives this documentary some merit. Is it being spun to some degree or is the story told with some bias? No doubt. But then we are all adults and can come to our own conclusions.

Just how "are two non-scientists creationists making standard anti-science and disproved creationist claims" in this video/documentary?
