Mormon view of JW.ORG
by konceptual99 indoes anyone have any links to how the mormons (or ex mormons for that matter) view the changes that the wts has made over recent years, especially the growth of jw.org and characters like caleb & sophia?.
have they noticed?
do they see similarities?

Are the USA and Russia the key actors in end time prophecy?
by scotoma inwhat's the problem with prophecy?prophecy primarily requires a pattern recognition or insightful strategy not an analytical strategy.
prophecy rarely gives names whether of empires or their rulers.
even the name of the messiah - yeshua -wasn't foretold.

the doomsday clock is not based on nuclear threats only since 2007 it also reflects climate change and new developments in the life sciences and technology that could inflict irrevocable harm to humanity
The most recent officially announced setting—three minutes to midnight (11:57 pm)—was made on January 22, 2015 due to climate change, the modernization of nuclear weapons in the U.S and Russia, and the problem of nuclear waste.

@millie i think because of a combination of secularisation and the preaching work. Churches are running empty in Europe the traditional denominations are dying. A lot of people are dissapointed in their churches, church leaders and teachings.
besides that SDA's do not preach so are not well known in Europe. Mormons do preach but only a very few (only young american missionaries for a two year period). The rest of the Mormons in a country do not go door to door. There are only about 80,000 mormon missionaries worldwide.
Contrary to that all JW's in a country preach and go door to door. So those dissapointed church people are not visited by SDA's or Mormons. Instead of that they are visited by JW's,.. not foreign JW's or missionaries but just local JW's that speak their european languages and are familar with the country and local customs.
That is why there is a difference in Europe between member figures of JW's , Mormons and SDA's

Millie said: "In spite of all the spin and the "get out there and preach!" The SDA still leads the JWs and with a much more laid back approach. Go figure!"
Not really. In Africa there are a lot of SDA's but if you look at the 2011 statistics per country you see that in most of the European countries JW's have a massive lead compared to SDA's and Mormons

Their delusion run-ith over in today WT study rag mag.
by Crazyguy ini noticed that in paragraph 13 they mention the girl sheryl that i believe was the same girl that was in their video about the typhoon that hit the philippines back in 2013. they talk as if she's so happy and thankful to jehovah even mention that she lost most of her family in that typhoon.
what they don't mention was her family members that were killed in that typhoon were inside a kh thinking they were going to be protected by jehovah since they were in gods house and his people and all.
they also fail to mention that the government authorities were telling people to get out of town but the elders were most likely telling the people in their congregations to stick around and just come to the hall.

Crazyguy: " What they don't mention was her family members that were killed in that typhoon were inside a KH thinking they were going to be protected by Jehovah since they were in gods house and his people and all.
What really happened:
TACLOBAN, Philippines, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Dead bodies clog the basement of the Tacloban City Convention Centre. The dazed evacuees in its sports hall are mostly women and children. the bodies illustrate another, more troubling truth: the evacuation centre itself became a death trap, as many of those huddling in the basement perished in a tsunami-like swirl of water.
Those with the foresight to evacuate flimsy homes along the coast gathered in concrete structures not strong enough to withstand the six-metre (20-ft) storm surges that swept through Tacloban, capital of the worst-hit Leyte province. The Philippines, no stranger to natural disasters, was unprepared for Haiyan's fury.
"Now, looking back, the preparations were not enough, especially in Tacloban. What we did not prepare for was the breakdown in local functions," said Lucille Sering, secretary of the government's Climate Change Commission.
Budget Secretary Florencio Abad said the government's response this time was faster than previous disasters.
"We saw something that is really unprecedented," Abad said. "I don't think we could have prepared for this."http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/13/philippines-typhoon-preparation_n_4266238.html
MANILA, Philippines – Hours before Typhoon Haiyan hit, Philippine authorities moved 800,000 people to sturdy evacuation centers -- churches, schools and public buildings. But the brick-and-mortar structures were simply no match for the jet-force winds and massive walls of waves that swept ashore Friday, devastating cities, towns and villages and killing thousands, including many of those who had huddled in government shelters. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/11/11/philippines-prepared-for-typhoon-haiyan-but-evacuation-sites-couldnt-withstand/
Roughly a million people are in shelters scattered around 20 provinces, Haiyan's powerful winds could potentially blow off the roofs of storm-proof buildings and suck out their walls due to the sheer force of its energy, experts have said.
"There aren't too many buildings constructed that can withstand that kind of wind," meteorology expert Jeff Masters told the Associated Press of Haiyan's 195mph landfall. "The wind damage should be the most extreme in Philippines history." http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/nov/08/typhoon-haiyan-batters-philippines
It was the worst and stronghest typhoon ever to make landfall in history. Of course JW's do not believe that Jehovah protects them when random natural disasters struck!
Unfortunately about 40 JW's out of the more than 185,000 on the Philipines lost their lives,

My JW MIL asked me to help her download a QR app to her iphone
by nonjwspouse inshe is entirely technically challenged, but of course, has been pushed into purchasing the newest ipad and newest iphone .. while attempting to see if she already had a qr app in the iphone ( she thought she might have but couldn't find it) i saw maybe 10 different jw apps on there!
this kind of stuff blows me away when such technologically challenged older people are now getting the latest and greatest ( much newer than anything i have) .
don't even really know how to use them properly or understand them very well sometimes.

@simon Malawi was just an example however not many of the 1.5 million publishers in Africa (Asia about 700,000) have a tablet or smarthphone capable to handle these Apps and content.
@Village Idiot what presses are shutted down according to you? The combined output of the printeries is still enormous despite this digital age.

@cappytan will not happen for many years to come
Recently i was in Malawi. Overthere Kingdom halls have no sound systems.. No electricity and no internet.
To be able to use the internet i had to travel to the city.
Most people in developing countries cannot afford tablets and other high tech gadgets.
They will use paper only for many years to come.
Even in rich nations paper will not be done away with soon.

There are 3 official apps made by the society and dozens of unofficial apps. Also people study their literature with Apps like Moonreader or Aldiko.
Soon Apps like Moonreader or Aldiko and the other unofficial Apps can be done away with since the JW Library App is updated very often and gets a lot of expanded features and new content.
It wll become the all-in-one App. Soon nobody will need bookbags when they go to the KH. Just a smartphone or tablet will do.
