My Dad wants to study with me
by BlackWolf inso my parents continue to pester me about getting baptized.
the other day my dad told me that i was old enough to make a decision, and was wondering why i wasn't ready (assembly is in a few weeks) so i told him calmly that i have many doubts and if i were to get baptized it has to be 100 percent my idea.
he was a little annoyed by this, and now wants to study the "is there a creator that cares about you" book (which is complete bs) with me.

Tell the elders you don't want to get baptized but are being pressured,
Nobody will baptize you,
However you will have to face your father and his anger issues,
Maybe the elders will talk to him and that might help (?)
Too many unknowns,
Good luck

I asked my son to stop playing football.
by The Rebel ini asked my son to stop playing football.
it was a simple kick about he was playing with a friend using the garage door as the goal.
i then went to my home and thought no more about it.

The Rebel,
Just speaking for myself,
My lifelong journey (60 years) with and leaving the Jehovah's Witnesses
brings to the fore a lot of emotion, frustration and anger,
Much of what I write here is actually venting,
As such, I'm not always in a position to carefully itemize my reasons
for a particular position,
Rest assured that your posts are read and appreciated,
No lengthy explanations are necessary,
Cheers,

Why not just print the whole quote?
by LevelThePlayingField inin next weeks bible study session for the cult, it says of a march 15, 1926 watchtower, “the faithful will be volunteers .
to tell this message to the people.” so i got to wondering what the ... was all about.
so i happened to have that watchtower, and this is what it actually says.. “the faithful will be volunteers in the day of god's wrath to tell this message to the people.” .

What's omitted is a qualifying phrase,
I could say I'm going to have everyone over, when Hell freezes over, for
a lovely party,
Now using Watchtower style ellipticals:
I'm going to have everyone over...for a lovely party,
See how this works everybody,
Now let's go show the faithful,
HEE HEE

Today vs Tomorrow in the JW World
by Funchback ini am a teacher and coordinator in brazil.
the school (it's for adults) i work for requires that our students donate food (rice, beens, pasta) or clothes or toys every month.
then, at the beginning of the next month, we take all of the donated goods and deliver them to places that exist on receiving donated items.. two months ago, we delivered the items to a home that cares for kids with cancer.
