I talked to a number of these people including D Splane about this over
the years
Standard sub psychotic religious experience
Reported by some people of all faiths
Akin to the "born again experience"
:0)
i've always wondered about this.
when a person believes they made a spiritual connection with god and proclaims themselves as anointed, how do they determine whether this person is anointed or not.
does a group of elders look at the person's spiritual resume and check off the person's pioneer stats, bible knowledge, attendance, work ethic, personality, etc and then believe in the person if they have a good track record?

necessary as it is at times, i hate this word.
for one thing, "ones" is a plural form of the number 1. that is dumb, and it's reason enough to avoid it where it isn't entirely necessary.. one could argue that it never is necessary, but it can still come up in colloquial dialogue when discussing objects.
jw leaders use it to discuss people.. interestingly, jws even did this to jesus christ in their own translation of the bible, referring to him in ephesians 1:7 with "through the blood of that one" where another translation would say something like "through his blood".
Oh I'm sorry,
I thought you said:
I really hate the WEIRD "ones"
I was writing to complain
Disregard
i am a fan of a video came called simcity and other building games like cities skylines and the such also legend of grimrock.
anyway, as i watch others plays these games on youtube i have noticed that there are some pretty intelligent people out there.
how others can solve the puzzles way better than i can on legend of grimrock and how they can build cities in ways that i had not thought of at all.
I know the occasional JW self made millionaire
but it wasn't their Theocratic EducationTM that did it
And they also didn't PioneerTM

mike from greece is a member of a pro-jw forum (message board).. the jw religion has so many rules so mike wants to clarify some correct procedures.. what woud you like to know, mike?.
a couple of questions dear brothers & sisters of the forum about women's head coverings1)should it be considered wrong for a sister to wear a head covering during the meetings?
i have seen some old sisters, one in our congregation and a couple in other two that like wearing head coverings during the meetings.
I noticed a reference to an online JW forum
Note
Sisters must at all times wear a Bubushka
When discussing Watch Tower issues while baptized Bros are online
(You realize that these sites are monitored by Headquarters right?)
You may order your officially registered Bubushka online or at a
TrolleyTM near you

when i was young everybody used to fantasise constantly about how brave we would all need to be "when the persecution comes".
we worried about what "they" would do to us and how we would never talk or betray other jws.
psychologically it was a damaging environment for children; but maybe that's another topic.. who would have thought that when it finally came it would take the form of being sued for protecting pedophiles.

I was concerned about people shoving hot pointy things in my eyes
Now,
If the persecution IS pedophile lawsuits,
Then all we'd really have to do is learn to block our ears and cover our eyes,
As 8 million of God's people are showing themselves very capable of doing
So
All this persecution prep work really has paid off,
They're golden!

Dear Mike,
Do you know what a Pharisee is?
(Sarcasm)
PS When a brother comes into the KM wearing a beard do you beat him
with a rod when the sisters ask you to?
:0)
it is an often asked question i know, but it perplexes me.. if witnesses are so convinced that they have "the truth", why is the act of researching information from external sources so taboo?
didn't the bible itself tell people to "use their powers of reason" and also praised ones like the boreans for researching things they were told??.
seriously, if there is no doubt about the organization being "god's channel" on earth, and it alone having the "truth", surely researching would only enhance such 'facts'?.
What makes a site Apostate?
Something stated by an Ex JDub?
By "False Religion?"
By a renowned University that's "unfavorable?"
a relative of mine was telling me, that in his, and a few neighboring congregations, there is a little confusion amongst some of the jw's about this "issue".
some families are having a hard time about whether certain relatives will be attending certain family functions, because some family members that are no longer in the "truth", might be invited to these functions.
mind you, these persons were never disfellowshipped.
