Do kids you know believe in Santa Claus?
Why?
Did their parents say that he's real?
Adults say some pretty silly things don't they!
:)
i'm having some serious issues with my child, she is now 5 and her mother is teaching her all sorts of things regards god, jehovah is real, in heaven, pray if you're scared, etc.
the problem is the kid is scared of demons at night and also conflicted that i don't believe, she also figured out jehovah doesn't actually help her not to be scared.. i've tried explaining that i'm there for her, watching over at night.
i've tried introducing her to various churches and beliefs so she understands there is a difference in believes and she likes those churches better than kingdom hall.

i could never understand why some people who know the truth about the "truth" ever go back.
once you understand all the hypocrisy and negatives, i would think it's almost impossible to go back!.
If a situation develops where I can openly question and have freedom of belief please let me know :)
now that the org.
has gone 90% digital, it would seem most people now would rather read a good old fashioned book than a tablet!.
way to show insight oh fearless leaders!.

Kind of amusing:
There's an alternate Christian religion printing The Finished Mystery to show folks how ridiculous it is,
Soft copy for about $30,

if interested google jw bookstore finished mystery
in part 3 of remember the wife of lot, prepubescent j.w.
kids are going to be shown something which demonstrates that the org condones watching disturbing horror content.
the "direction" the wtbts is taking is breathtaking.
There are so many problems with this story that anyone who's open to the possibility can see that its just a story!
I researched Archeological Journals and found that there is no evidence of Sodom and Gomorrah's destruction,
The BibleTeach Book says there is,
They lie

In western countries, public standards as well as parents with the smallest amount of common sense prevent small children from watching frightening scenes on TV
But, in the name of religion!
What's next?
Armageddon?
many years ago i met an older man in the ministry who told me he was a baptized jw years ago, when i met him he was an alchoholic and had girlfriends, i told the elders, two came by and they told me to treat him as a regular worldly guy, my question is (i know this is a fuzzy area) about how much time needs to go by before someone (me for instance) would be looked upon as a non jw worldly person?.
:0).
Thanks everyone for your response so far,
One thought that struck me,
(and mixing with my own)
is that jws, especially family are thinking:
Come back to Jehovah,
meaning come out of the "mud"
Because we are "assuredly living the life of drunken gambler"
Rather than the life of a thinking person who can't pretend to live the lie of belief anymore,
Thanks again,
:0)
yes!
yes!
we too believe in paradise and that god will destroy all our enemies!
Yes! Yes! We too believe in Paradise and that God will destroy all our enemies!!
lets play a fun game?.
we all know that as witnesses, we were constantly told to read the bible, and ask ourselves what the passage we read reveals about god.. as an example, here is a wt that highlights this.. may 2016 wt study edition "benefit fully from jehovah's provisions".
8 ask questions.
i bring up this subject because of all the restrictions children have to endure in the jw cult.
they are made prisoners of mind and body.
being forced to do things that are not natural for children to do.
Every day I was sent off to school I was told "You know who you are"
That meant that I was "different" and that I was representing Almighty God,
If I misbehaved it was going to make Him look bad,
I think that's quite a lot of responsibilty to throw on a six year old,
