HAS ANYONE SEEN.......
by DATA-DOG ina super bat-shit crazy invitation to pioneer in august??
i stumbled upon something the other day, but i have been hesitant to post it.
i am afraid that it could be a local thing and thereby traced back to me.

Watchtower Memorial Day makes local UK newspaper
by TableForOne ina tragic, but honest, story.
well written, in my opinion.. i'd like to see how the local jw's would handle this being mentioned to them this saturday morning in the ministry.. it's just a shame it's only a local newspaper, not a national.. www.bucksherald.co.uk/news/more-news/former-jehovah-s-witness-leaves-memorial-to-family-who-shunned-her-1-6206648.

My eldest brother, mother and step-father are in this cong. They, of course, are completely po-faced about it because the lady in question had married out of the truth after a failed marriage to a brother. I'm repeating what I was told...don't know for sure. My brother just made a sarcastic comment, which made me want to slap him with a wet flounder. What is wrong with these people?

Anyone before Jacob (Israel) was technically not an Israelite, because the term had not really been invented; so the Tablet of Adam, Shem and so forth were penned ( chiselled) by non-Jews, if not actual Gentiles. These are mentioned in the Bible.

Not on JW.org : Question for Jehovah's Witnesses elders: If pants have Pagan origins, is DENIM demonized ?
by Balaamsass2 ina yound sister was severely counciled by the elders for wearing a denim "jean skirt" to the hall last year.
she left with tears in her eyes and never returned.. for the last 50 years denim jeans have been banned at the brooklyn bethel breakfast table.. i understand denim jeans are banned even by tourists visiting beth ell.
billy explained the pants situation in past posts.. so my questions are: what other instances are there of denim bans by watchtower ?

Denim was originally made with cannabis hemp fibre....perhaps they are worried people will get stoned by extension.

should there be a rule against posting PMs ?
by MissFit inmost people feel that it is unethical to post private messages.. how ever there does not seem to be a posting rule against it.. some people unfamiliar with posting on boards may not realize that it is not done to post private messages .
( even though it would seem self evident with the word private in it.).
so what do you think about making it an official posting rule?.

A gentleman PMd me re a comment I made about the old KH birthday books. I replied via PM. Was this a breach of etiquette? I am still quite new to this.

Weird crazy rules imposed by your local Elders.
by stuckinarut2 inwe all know the sort of thing..... in many congregations, specific "rules" creep in...introduced by the local elders that become set in stone.. years ago, i heard of a congregation that sat down during the first song of the evening but stood for all others (the co changed that very soon after).
then there were the older accounts of congs that had rules to make the public speakers wear only white shirts.... in one cong now, i heard that brothers can only be used for sound or microphones if they do a minimum of 5 hours per month in the ministry!.
another cong has ruled that all appointed men must pioneer for at least one month each year in order to remain qualified.. .

Several years ago a PO lectured me about a suitable motor vehicle. He droned on and on but it was worth it for the punch-line : " It is unscriptural for a sister to ride a motor-bike." After I picked myself up off the floor, I asked him if he thought I ought to ride my horse side-saddle. He took me seriously and graciously gave me permission to ride astride. That put me back on the floor laughing my head off again.

Exactly what is the difference?
by Terry inthe enemy of jehovah's witnesses is the individual whose thoughts are their own & who demand reasonable access to alternate forms of source material other than officially approved ones.. there is no loyal opposition permitted for redress of abuse or clarification of policy.. .
there are enemies, however.
any person or group who does not agree is the declared enemy.. mind control on the part of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses is not an openly declared boilerplate mission statement.

A long time ago the Society taught people to KNOW...for the last few decades, they have been teaching people to BELIEVE.
Belief can be controlled, knowledge can't.
