by opusdei1972 intoday i called to my sister and she told me that two elders went to her house to announce her that a judicial committe is waiting her in the kingdom hall this friday.
she told them that she will confirm if she will go.
however, i have told her that she shouldn't go, instead she should ask them to write a formal letter, with signatures, asking her for which charges she should be submitted in a private room with two men (or three?

Today I called to my sister and she told me that two elders went to her house to announce her that a judicial committe is waiting her in the kingdom hall this friday. She told them that she will confirm if she will go. However, I have told her that she shouldn't go, instead she should ask them to write a formal letter, with signatures, asking her for which charges she should be submitted in a private room with two men (or three?) in a judicial committee. If they don't want to write it, it means that they don't want to produce any prove of their intimidatory practices.
Of course, my sister most probably is being judged for apostasy. But I don't want her to be humiliated by attending such stupid committee.
Any thoughts?

Losing Faith

i've been an avid bible reader since as early as i can remember.
i read the bible cover to cover for the first time when i was about 17 years old and have read it at least twice more since then.

cappytan Your experience is somewhat similar of that of mine. After noticing that the Watchtower Society is a deceptive organization, which tends to minimize its serious errors, I still believed that Jehovah was God and Jesus was our Savior. But after appliying a critical analysis to the Old and New Testament, I had to admit that Yahweh can't be God. The books of the Old Testament have many contradictions and moral problems, which show that there was no coherent god inspiring them. A loving god can't order you to kill infants (read 1 Samuel 15:1-5). A loving god can't promote revenge (read Numbers 31:1-2). A genuine god can't proclaim false prophecies (Ezekiel 29:12). This is why I don't believe that the Bible can provide us a trustworthy guide. -

Is Watchtower's stance against education only for North American witnesses
by wannaexit ini was reading on a european ex jw forum where some feel that watchtower's railing against higher education is primarily for north america issue.
this is due that many in usa and canada leave home to leave on campus.
it was mentioned that many young european jw attend universities and its not frowned on.. i found this odd because i heard what morris and losch said about education in italy.

.....As I mentioned before, some years ago, in may last congregation here in Brazil, an elder gave frequently talks against those young ones who decide to study in the university. He said that those are being disloyals against Jehovah. So, this is not a destructive advice only for US brothers, but a worldwide Watchtower's propaganda against the University. -

I am living in Brazil, I lived in Perú and Argentina. So I can say that the anti-higher education Watchtower's propaganda is worldwide. But I have noticed that here in Brazil the witnesses obey more seriously the Watchtower's ban against university studies. -
