10: Response of the Jehovah’s Witness Organisation to the Sexual Abuse of Children
Having regard to the various matters we have discussed in this report, we have reached a number of general conclusions on the Jehovah’s Witness organisation’s response to the sexual abuse of children.
We do not consider the Jehovah’s Witness organisation to be an organisation which responds adequately to child sexual abuse. We do not believe that children are adequately protected from the risk of sexual abuse for the following reasons:
The organisation relies on outdated policies and practices to respond to allegations of child sexual abuse. Also, those policies and practices are not subject to ongoing and continuous review. The policies and practices are, by and large, wholly inappropriate and unsuitable for application in cases of child sexual abuse. The organisation’s retention and continued application of policies such as the two-witness rule in cases of child sexual abuse shows a serious lack of understanding of the nature of child sexual abuse.
The organisation’s internal disciplinary system for addressing complaints of child sexual abuse is not child or survivor focused in that it is presided over by males and offers a survivor little or no choice about how their complaint is addressed.
The sanctions available within the organisation’s internal disciplinary system are weak and leave perpetrators of child sexual abuse at large in the organisation and the community.
In deciding the sanctions to impose and/or precautions to take in relation to a known or suspected perpetrator, the organisation has inadequate regard to the risk that that perpetrator might reoffend. This demonstrates a serious lack of understanding of the nature and impact of child sexual abuse.
The organisation’s general practice of not reporting serious instances of child sexual abuse to police or authorities – in particular, where the complainant is a child – demonstrates a serious failure by the organisation to provide for the safety and protection of children in the organisation and in the community.

New Resolution?

had our midweek meeting last night.

they had a resolution to send an extra (i wanna say $1100 but i only remember it was at least $1000) per month to forward the kingdom preaching work etc.. you know how they work in the kh...no one votes against anything.

i abstained as i almost have always done.

The widow’s trust moved her to support the existing arrangement for true worship. Likewise, we trust that if we seek first the Kingdom, Jehovah will make sure that we have what we need.—Matt. 6:33.

for the umpteenth time this year, the message was clear: "shun your adult children, no matter how painful it is for you".. which got me thinking, the "real" message that the watchtower wants to impart to its adherents seems to be varying year over year.

in an earlier reddit post we discussed the possible role that watchtower business associate and trump son-in-law may play in a trump white house; and if that meant that wt may have a friend with the president-elect's ear.. now, thanks to a tip from /u/jpentrak, i've been alerted to the fact that watchtower has removed the video news update: jehovah’s witnesses moving forward.

this video featured jared kushner speaking in glowing terms about wt personnel and how well maintained the buildings were by the organisation.. despite claims in this same video that "we're not trapped in time" by watchtower spokesman david a. semonian, clearly they don't know that the internet never forgets.. here is the url of the removed page:.

Now, thanks to a tip from /u/jpentrak, I've been alerted to the fact that Watchtower has removed the video News Update: Jehovah’s Witnesses Moving Forward. This video featured Jared Kushner speaking in glowing terms about WT personnel and how well maintained the buildings were by the organisation.

Despite claims in this same video that "We're not trapped in time" by Watchtower spokesman David A. Semonian, clearly they don't know that the internet never forgets.

The removal of this video is surprising because they made such fanfare over the Telly Awards they won, one of which was for this video:

won a 2015 Bronze Telly Award in the “Online Video News Feature” category

Perhaps they are not so proud of this "award" since John Redwood of www.jwsurvey.org posted an exposé showing Watchtower Purchases Telly Awards Statuettes and Publishes Phony Quote on JW.ORG? Perhaps now that Mr. Kushner is so involved in the Trump transition team they don't want to include him in their propaganda films?
