  What is the vow of poverty

  i was told by someone that in 2007 two members of the branch committee in greece were removed because they breached the vow of poverty.

  the matter was over a small amount, in the range of a few hundred euro.

  is there a copy of this vow available and how would this be applied here?

  43. The Worldwide Order is an unincorporated associa-
  tion made up of all those in special full-time service
  throughout the world. Members of the Worldwide Order
  are baptized ministers in special full-time service who
  perform whatever assignment they receive from the
  Worldwide Order. Each member of the Worldwide Order
  signs a Vow of Obedience and Poverty (“Vow”), which is
  a voluntary commitment made by each member. The
  Worldwide Order sees to it that each member of the Or-
  der receives basic necessities, regardless of the mem-
  ber’s assignment or the legal entity through which the
  member serves.

  here we are on the cusp of the new year, and the 2017 yearbook of jws has still not been released.

  jw.org continues to feature the 2016 yearbook in its list of main publications.

  in previous years, the upcoming yearbook's annual report on jws was released in november for the january 1st then the feb 1st watchtower, then earlier in december when it was only featured in the yearbook, then more recently with a couple of days of december 25th.

  Kingdom Hall Renovation Question: Who Pays?

  so last night it was announced at the local hall that the ldc had decided against building a new hall, and that the existing hall would be "renovated.

  the prospect of a new hall has been dangled before this congregation for at least 10 years now.

  in fact, the congregation had already purchased property, had approval from the rbc for a new hall.

  Therefore, it is not necessary that the elders obtain favorable certification from the Central Registry of Sexual Delinquents to continue performing their duties in the congregation.

  Question on the Special Order... document and its implications

  several times on this forum posts have been made about the "order of special full-time servants" in the wts and the document that must be signed by those entering it, bethelites, cos, and so on.

  the reason given for the whole thing has usually been for tax purposes, that by signing this document full-timers become exempt from taxation by belonging to this special group.

  basically then, end of story.. however, there is a clause in said document stating that any money made by the full-time worker beyond the allowance given by the society has to be turned over to the society.
