You say: “I have seen absolutely zero evidence that supports that spirits are part of reality.”
[Your name suggests that we can go bit deeper into the subject]
In The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde has a character say, “The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible,” referring to something as effete as his friend’s beauty. Yet, if its meaning is taken out of context, it resonates with William Blake’s “To see a world in a grain of sand and a heaven in a wild flower….” Between the visible and the invisible worlds, the visible has always got the short end of the stick and been treated like a pariah by high-end intellectuals and theologians. It’s considered a second-class citizen at best, something that has to be endured and transcended, while the actual goodies lie in the invisible end of the existential spectrum.
That both the visible and invisible are just as important and cannot exist without each other is something that doesn’t sit well in our heads. If knowledge is an ocean, there are two views—one from the shore [which goes till the senses can go] and the other going deep into the ocean! Now let us have a dive into the ocean called knowledge!
Anything that changes with respect to circumstances is not true reality. The universe is made of subatomic particles and the intervening space. Subatomic particles carry mass, charge and energy. M-Theory states that all subatomic particles are made of one-dimensional strings. All characteristics of subatomic particles mass, charge and energy arise from the way these strings oscillate. If they oscillate in one particular way, we perceive electrons. If they oscillate in a different way, we perceive protons, and so on. Therefore, we can define the whole universe as countless vibrating strings. However, these strings strictly require multidimensional space (10 spatial dimensions) in order to exist. In other words, empty space is more fundamental than these strings. Without intervening space with extra dimensions, there can be no oscillating strings and hence no universe at all.
Does this imply that empty space is true reality? Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity states that even empty space is not absolute and constant. Time is another entity, which was historically believed to be fundamental and universal. However, Einstein’s theory states that time flows at different rates in different physical conditions, implying that time is also not absolute and universal. Hence, both space and time are not part of true reality.
If space and time are not part of reality, what are they? Quantum Mechanics reveals that space and time have no meaning unless there is a conscious observer. When Einstein was asked to describe space, he just said, “Space is what we measure with a measuring rod.” Here, this definition of space strictly involves we, the observer. If there is no one to measure space, what is the relevance space has? As if not existing! Now who is more important, or who is really existing? The observer, the immaterial is more real than the things we thought as reality!
The same is applicable to time. Currently physicists take a stand that physical principles really don’t require the concept of time. Neuroscientists say that past and future only exist as ideas in the mind, as mental events occurring only in the present moment. All these prove that even space and time are not really basic properties of the universe; rather, they are products of our own mind. Hence the question arises: What is true reality? Science does not explain the nature of true reality satisfactorily. Perhaps the answer does not exist in the physical plane.
Now materialists want to go only in so far as the senses go, hence they have to reject anything that lies beyond the realm of sense perception.” That’s their choice—let it be. But we know in the realm of cosmic introvert or extrovert, in the first (extrovert) phase, “subtle“ is transmuted into “crude”, and in the returning phase of introvert, “crude” is metamorphosed into “subtle”. In this progress, a semicircular approach, there may be subtler objects in the scope of matter many objects subtler than electrons or protons [neutrons] or positrons but we find no alternative but to say that they are either electron or proton or positron or neutron. And similarly, in the psychic sphere there may be entities subtler than ectoplasm or its extra psychic coverage, endoplasm.
There are entities which come within the realm of both physicality and psychic expressions which are smaller or subtler than atoms, electrons or protons, and in the psychic realm may be subtler than ectoplasm. For such objects or entities I use the term “microvitum“. Microvitum is the mysterious emanation of cosmic factor.
This microvitum, or in plural microvita are not of protoplasmic order, and as such they have got little to do with carbon molecules or carbon atoms, which are treated as the initial points or initial stage of life in the universe. In physical terms, the position of microvita is just between ectoplasm and electron, but they are neither ectoplasm nor telectron. Due to our lack of knowing, we may say microvita is mysterious. Hence it is the mysterious emanation of cosmic factor.
They are not of protoplasmic order, and, hence the question of their protozoic or metazoic structure does not arise. It's a mystery. Microvita are not of the same density or subtlety . Some of them may come within the range of a highly developed microscope; others, by their actional expression, faculty or vibrations, they may come within the scope of our perception. They are of subtler order. There may be still more subtle forms of microvita which may not come directly within the scope of our perception but may come within the scope of a special type of perception which is actually the reflection of conception within the range of perception in a limited sphere.
So microvita may be broadly divided into three categories those coming within the scope of a microscope; those coming within the scope of perception as a result of their expression or actional vibration; and those coming within the scope of a special type of perception which is actually the reflection of conception within the periphery of perception. Special perception may be felt or realised by persons having highly developed, spiritual minds. By dint of our spiritual or physico psycho-spiritual effort, our minds will, develop in all strata, and the power of conception will also develop. And we will know the secrets of these microvita.
