Ruby - it's sometimes good to take out life's frustrations on the keyboard.
BTW I think the king's sunni, most of the Jordanian pop. is.
an eloquent major figure questioned, well worth listening to: on the multi continental conflict among muslims and their push against the secular world.. can be heard on you-tube.. .

This is not a new problem, the problems go back more than 1000 years - yes indeed. Islam has been shedding blood on and off since its birth. The prophet Muhammad turned the Mecca into a strict monoculture in a matter of decades - I guess he didn't 'value diversity' or 'embrace multiculturalism'
well i'll be darned.
serves 'em right.
man does that put a smile on my face.'.
Jehovah's Witnesses have the lowest retention rate of any U.S. religion - of course they do. The WTS is, let's face it, a crap religion - right up there with Mormonism and Islam in terms of harsh doctrines and boring worship.
If people insist on being religious, why not embrace Hinduism? With its umpteen deities and colourful festivals people could really push the boat out.
i was given permission by a jw friend of my wife and me to post this experience.
she's anonymous and posts on the board.
she is married to a witness still but is fighting on behalf of children in her congregation to not be a next victim of a pedophile who attends her congregation.
Sorry, flipper, I only read the first page of this thread so initially missed your follow-up posts.
Outlaw said, I believe, that the police will only be interested if a crime has been committed. A convicted paedo patting his own 13 year-old daughter's behind is a crime - your friend was right to go to the police. Hopefully, she went to them again.

Like others who have responded to the OP, I'm struggling to find the right words in my response.
The CO's response to the sister saying to him she had difficulty believing in God with the paedophile giving talks was indeed chilling, and evidence of cult brain-washing. It is obviously dangerous to blame Satan - an invisible being who likely doesn't exist. We are each responsible for our own actions.
IMO, this case, in a nutshell, represents everything that is wrong with the WTS. They are either unwilling or unable to deal with paedophiles in their midst, due to their desire to be 'better' than other churches.
This sister should go to the police with her concerns - grooming, inappropriate touching is just as much a crime as child rape.
what song would you dedicate to the wt if you knew they would be listening?
put the title or post some of the lyrics for those of us that may not know it.

Great thread, designs. I love a lot of Lennon songs, with or without McCartney. It's such a shame he was gunned down by some lunatic - a terrible loss.
I love this song, Imagine, although I find it strange to see John singing 'imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can' at an expensive piano in his big mansion.
I also like Jealous Guy, such a beautiful song.
in an earlier thread, i mentioned that i wasn't a particularly doggy person but that my parents got a husky last year that i've come to regard as a kind of brother.. huskies superficially resemble wolves and for me it's been fun to compare and contrast husky and wolf behaviour.
huskies howl but rarely bark, and seem to have a strong prey drive and a strong pack instinct - a nod to their wild cousins.
this is why i love huskies, i think.. do you have a favourite dog breed and why?.
I could dig up a picture if you want - if it's not too much trouble, that would be great, thanks.
Smaller animals were candy as far as they were concerned - I can well imagine it, my parents' husky is similar.
Thanks for the photos lisa, they're too cute!

Thanks for all the responses.
Blondie - that last photo you posted is so cute!
Vanderhoven & talsin - rotties and dobies are wussies? Great, they go on my 'dogs I might own' list. I also like GSDs and border collies, too.
Great photo, kaik - the limb length vs body length proportion suggests GSD to me and the colour is obviously wolf. Beautiful specimen.
TD - how did your husky/wolf hybrids behave around people, other dogs, smaller animals? Could you walk them off the leash?
