  one time, i heard a father in a meeting with married couples say `i sometimes have to smack my children a bit, but never in the face so as to not humiliate them.how beautiful!

  he knows the sense of dignity!

  What does a child learn from being hit by a parent? Is it really necessary? - the child learns not to misbehave. But I agree with you - reasoning, grounding or stopping pocket money are much better ways to get children to behave.

  I'm also glad that corporal punishment was done away with in secondary schools.

  It is the lazy option - in many cases, I'm sure it is.

  I think there may be differences in cultural attitudes to smacking children - again, the African women beating seven shades out of her daughter above doesn't compare to the occasional smack I received as a child.

  What the young man's parents did to him was bad. His parents and the WTS must bear some responsibility.

  But this man is responsible for his own actions. He should be punished, and punished severely, pour encourager les autres.

  37 states out of 50 - this progress. It's not ideal but it's good. Despite the religious right being popular in the US, the majority of these states have changed to allow gay marriage.

  the leaders of russia, germany, france and ukraine are slated to meet in minsk (the belarusian capital) tomorrow to discuss a ukrainian peace plan!

  some countries such as hollande believe there is going to be a total war.

  when they met last year in the same place, they had put forward a peace plan (a ceasefire, withdrawal of artillery, prisoner exchanges and other concessions) that were never fully implemented!

  The ultimate supernatural revenge fantasy - maybe so. Perhaps it's also a way to get people to accept their lot in life. If anything bad happens to them, they don't really need to sort it out - God will do that at Armaggedon.

  JW born in + eager Muslim convert = one seriously f*cked up individual.

  Let's call it a minimum of 25 years before parole is allowed - no 'serve half the sentence and you can go free'

  though religions have done enough harm to mankind, it often has to do with the exclusive attitude most of them developed misinterpreting the scriptures.

  thus scriptures were blamed for all the misdeeds of religions.

  this was precipitated by certain verses in scriptures which are obviously interpolated by those with vexed interest..
