i think many people feel secure with an abundance of rules.
they enjoy being told what to do, how to think.
it makes them feel safe.
Following rules does make us feel secure.
But the real question is how many rules are we following?
I live in Britain and obey British law. This isn't particularly oppressive and it kinda makes me feel secure (I don't crap myself if I see the police because I'm not doing anything wrong).
But what about all the WT rules? These are ridiculous - there are too many of them, for a start, lol.
It's no fun being a little hamster on the WT wheel that never stops spinning
this video is a few years old but is very timely considering the culture war that is raging in the uk, the us, and other western countries.. his argument is simple - he's calling for 'more speech' to counter bigoted speech and ideas, rather than shutting conversations down.. well worth a listen ….

There are more efforts now than ever to stop free speech - yes, things have got progressively worse this past 10 years or so.
Mr Atkinson was actually speaking in the video in 2012.
Free speech obviously must be protected. Having disagreements is healthy and part of normal life.
The problem is when others force you to say certain things which you secretly disagree with, or when others force you to abandon certain words to avoid giving offence (e.g. 'people who possess a womb' in place of 'women', lol).
It's an effort by profoundly illiberal people to control what we think and say. If we can't say certain things, then we can't think certain things.
We must urgently push back against this attack on free speech.

diego maradona apparently died yesterday, 11-25-2020, from a heart attack aged 60.. on the football pitch he was a genius, a footballer of outrageous talent.
btw i'm english, and like many of my compatriots, i remember how disgraceful his cheating was in the quarter finals of the 1986 world cup against england.
he clearly deliberately punched the football into the net, and that goal should not have been allowed.

But the next goal he scored was pure genius. He was on another plane compared to the other 21 players on the pitch. He turned three England players inside-out and then walzed through the England defence, rounding goalkeeper Peter Shilton and cheekily putting the ball in the goal.
Enjoy …
watchtower examination has a youtube video about subliminal images drawn by the watchtower's art department.
i'm not a professional artist but i see too many strange and hidden images in this drawing.
i have boxed four examples of hidden images.
One issue here is that looking for 'hidden images' is a bit like looking at the shapes of clouds in the sky, or trying to assign themes and hidden meanings to feature films.
E.g. - yes, Australia looks like a rabbit nibbling an apple.
You can interpret it any way you want - it's highly subjective.
Anyoo, that's my ha' penny worth.
Carry on!
yeah, so my anticipation for this movie was very high a few months ago.
i didn't see it at the cinema, i was waiting for it on dvd.
i had heard that it was a horror film (my favourite genre) so my expectations were high.. when i finally saw it, i was a little disappointed, i gotta say.
Did not trip my trigger - lol
This film isn't for everyone, that's for sure.
For me, it has quite a lot of 're-watch-ability'.
I do think that Robert Eggers has great potential as a film-maker. He and Jennifer Kent (The Babadook & The Nightingale) are my favourite directors of the last decade.

When I finally saw it, I was a little disappointed, I gotta say. The film has some kind of horror aspects - two guys going insane with the solitude, the killing of a seagull, the killing of Thomas Wake, and the death of Winslow, etc. - but its horror was too mild for me on first viewing.
The film has kinda grown on me with repeated viewings, though, and Robert Eggers is definitely a good film maker.
What do you think of the film?
hey, guys - how ya doin?.
so, what are your favorite movie clips?.
gimme your best movie clips, please, ladies and gentlemen.. here's one of mine ….
Here's a clip from The Lighthouse (2019). I had great anticipation for this - I thought the film was a horror.
I was a bit disappointed when I first saw it - the horror is too mild for my liking. But it is well shot and acted, and it has grown on me after repeated viewings.
Robert Eggers is definitely one director I'll be watching out for in the future.
Can you file lawsuit for mental distress? - if you're thinking about a lawsuit against the WTS, no, I don't think so.
People choose to join the WTS or not.
Born-ins have a choice - a difficult choice - stay in or leave. <----- not nice, but that's life
