Of course, there is one way that will solve this whole issue at a single stroke - stop the license fee, and let the Beeb compete in the real world against Sky, Amazon, Netflix, etc.
That way, Lineker can be as impartial as he likes on social media.
whether you like or loathe the guy, agree or disagree, surely he has a right to express his opinions freely on twitter?.
every bbc employee who appears on tv or speaks on the radio, should now be paranoid about any opinions they've put on their social media accounts, because if the bbc are prepared to censor/silence lineker, they'll go for anyone.. oops: looks like the bbc can dictate what their staff can & can't say in their social media accounts.. https://www.bbc.co.uk/editorialguidelines/guidance/individual-use-of-social-media.
pity they weren't as strict with their high profile paedophile, mr. savile..

@Boogerman
Yes, the BBC seems to have treated Gary Lineker harshly, and I fully understand the issues around free speech.
But, firstly, Lineker signed a contract with the BBC. And that contract must have said something about the organisation's impartiality rules.
Secondly, the BBC is funded by the British public. Not all of them agree with Lineker's childish tweets - large swathes of the public disagree with what he said. If the Beeb is to continue receiving license fees, it must remain politically neutral as best as it can. Lineker keeps taking a giant shit on that.
what is it with disney star wars?
why is it that seemingly everything disney touches turns to shit?
what the f**k are these scooters doing in the book of boba fett?!
Just for comparison, here's the vehicle Luke travelled around his native planet of Tatooine in ...

Part of the charm of the original trilogy was that the universe looked different, but lived-in for the most part. Going to see Star Wars in 1977 and seeing all the characters, aliens, technologies, ships and planets must have been so good.
And here we have shiny, 70s-looking scooters.
But without wheels.
F**k me

'In particular the Secretary of State said illegal immigrants were "invading" our country' - you're talking nonsense, SBF.
When did the Nazis say this?
There is just no comparison to be made. The Nazis called Jews, Gypsies and Slavs 'Untermensch' (subhuman), and gassed millions to death.
The UK, on the other hand, is trying to stop people from drowning in the English Channel.
No comparison.

Basically what Cofty said, in his first post.
The BBC must be politically neutral because it is in its charter.
Lineker is paid by the BBC, hence he is associated with it.
Other BBC employees keep their political opinions to themselves - what makes Lineker think he can get away with it?
Plus, comparing the government's language with that of the Nazis is ridiculous - Rishi hasn't started talking about a final solution. We haven't even started building the gas chambers yet, lol.
Everyone is allowed an opinion, even smug twats like Lineker.
But at some point a decision must be made. Either Lineker can carry on working for the Beeb, or he can go to Sky or wherever and continue posting politics on social media.
cofty could you answer how the single cell came about by chance?.
i know the argument for complexity in nature says natural selection over billions of years but this could not explain the complexity of the single cell the building blocks of life?.
@Vidqun
You view it as imperfection coming through.
So why is God's creation imperfect?

@Vidqun
At the risk of going off topic, the sexes aren't magically divided at all. Roughly 1.3 % of people are intersex.
If evolution without God is accepted, then the existence of intersex people is fairly easily explained: evolution via natural selection is a mindless process which sometimes throws up anomalies - errors just naturally occur.
But if you believe in intelligent design, why would God create intersex people?

@Ex-B
I don't know what you want to talk about.
Do you want to discuss
1. Evolution
2. Abiogenesis
3. The Big Bang?
Like I said, You're all over the place.

@Ex-B
We are discussing abiogenesis. This means how the first living organisms arose from non-living matter.
What it most certainly doesn't mean is 'how something came from nothing'.
You're all over the place, and it's hilarious to watch.
