Nige Farridge made some good points in the vid in the OP. When he said 'we must stand up for Judeo-Christian culture' I don't think he had in mind stonings and doing f*ck all on the Sabbath, somehow ... -

Is the UN really the disgusting thing?
by StarTrekAngel inbeen dwelling on this for a while.
was there any particular history on this or anywhere where the wt picked up someone else's doctrine?.
in most cases, the bible uses the word "disgusting thing" to refer to idols, idolatry and false religion.

I'm fairly ignorant of the UN. I've read about it doing good things; I've read opinion pieces saying that it has faults that need sorting out.
But calling it the 'disgusting thing' to shoehorn it into Bible prophecy? Sounds like WTS-inspired lunacy to me.

Interesting OP.
With all the various issues and problems with multiculturalism in the UK, perhaps some form of Christian culture might be an alternative. Obviously, it would have to fit in with 21st century values and would be a nod to Britain's past. Looking at other cultures around the globe, people could definitely do a lot worse than a reformed Christian culture.

Hello
by Laika inhi all, i haven't posted here in a while, felt like a break and have been insanely busy, i don't think too much about jw stuff now, but wanted to pop in anyway.
have i missed anything recently?.
i am very happy, much to my surprise, i think it would be nice to go back to the end of 2013 and tell the depressed and lonely version of me that he can't even comprehend how good life could be.

The quran states it is a confirmation of previous messages and not a new message - I'm not sure about this statement.
As an example, the OT condemns drunkenness but Jews drunk alcohol. The Nt also condemns drunkenness but Jesus turned water into wine.
AFAIK, the Quran condemns drunkenness plus any consumption of alcohol.
Why did God suddenly become a teetotaller c.650CE?!

The Iraqi Problem - an Overview and Solution
by Village Idiot inmuch has been said about muslims and iraq but little historical information has been given to understand the context.
context is important in understanding anything especially with regards to conflicts.
islam and the conflict in iraq requires knowledge of at least four different parties with a general understanding of their ideology.. islam was founded around 622 c.e.

I don't think that a sovereign state would be necessary for either one - so, where would they live? Who would have them? -

A relatively large number of troops would also be needed, temporarily, to guard the borders - that sounds like a good idea, I agree with that.
The OP mentioned three groups - Sunni, Shia and Kurd. What about the Iraqi Christians and Yezidi?

@Village Idiot - I agree with you. The West should be facilitators - definitely supplying medicine, ammo, food, etc. Boots on the ground? I'm not so sure.
