Many here are frustrated as this guy doesn't appear to be really listening or taking into account any of the very reasoned and well thought out arguments against the flags. He just repeats that HE is not convinced.
The bottom line for me is this. He never received my permission to display my country flag. So on principle, he shouldn't do it. Make the display a choice. Hello?

Why not show respect to the members here, and make this a democratic decision? Have a month long poll here, with a clear question, and respect the result?

Apparently Simon, you have already made up your mind about all of this? The vast majority who have responded here are against the flags. So what was the point of all this discussion. It seemed that there was a forgone conclusion. No one was going to change your view.

i mean, anyone with a real bible and half a brain doesn't need to log onto a website and read nonsense.. its not a bible study when you present someone a book or magazine to read along in.. its not the gospel, when its not about jesus.

Their basic teachings are disintegrating. Many of us still remember studying the big yellow book, Gods Kingdom of a Thousand Years Has Approached.
They used to equate the Foolish virgins with the Evil slave "class" as those of the Bible Stdents who didn't go along with Rutherfords reinvention of the society, held onto worldly false doctrine, and refused to go out and preach door to door.

here's what i found to be the best way (for me at least) to debate jw's without earning the laber of apostate.
this is mostly valid when debating jw's that don't know you personally, but it could help with those that do too.
I found that bringing up the subject of sexual molestations in some congregations and how the Society has covered a lot of this up, and the whole 2 witness rule made the biggest impression on my mother and sisters who are still inside. My sister had to admit that this rule had to change. It wasn't justice, it wasn't right, and many so called brothers got away with all of this. But I could see by the looks in their faces that this subject hit them very hard. Much harder than any doctrinal point that I have ever tried to make with them.
