GB Sidlick was my table head at Bethel. One morning he gave me a ration of #!#! for missing breakfast "worship" and taking a day off to eat at a local sidewalk cafe and read the paper like a normal New Yorker. Every good JW, Elder, Bethelite, and especially GBs are expected to be dutifully engaged in Service or Meeting Sunday mornings. "Top shelf Tony" is a publicity whore and I'm glad he got outed. But perhaps he is happy about it because Watchtower GB MADE the "Rolling Stone" this March for the first time!!!!!!!

tonight watched at prime video the great movie the firm again.

in 1993, first time in the theatre, made direct a connection with the gb.. now i'm thinking: could jw.org be used for worldwide money laundry?.

I was looking at some of the JW tax filings with the State of California. Obviously false, multiple copies of the exact same return year after year. Just the GB again giving the middle finger to the Tax Man based on 1st amendment freedom of Religion. I wouldn't be surprised if duffle bags of cash donations were privately flown from Florida to nearby Freetown in the Bahamas and other locations, to deposit in the Swiss bank branches located there.

The tax man is not the GB only concern. Having cash offshore is a great way to stay liquid in case of an unfriendly court slapping them with records subpoenas, asset freezes( Lis pendens) or judgments.

2 other halls in the area were slated for closure.

Concealed carry Dubs

i spent a considerable length of time living and working in america (would love to imigrate one day).. almost everyone i worked with and made friends with carried a concealed firearm of somesort.

i found this pretty interesting and as an avid firearm fan even more so.. so to our american members here... .

as a jw did you or did you know any practising dubs who carried or if not had firearms for home defence?

In the 40s and early 50s the Bethel nightwatchman carried a revolver. After a guard shot up a giant roll of paper one night Knorr put an end to it.

In the 60s my Congregation Overseer was a cop. In the late 60s, we had two additional deputies and an FBI agent in the hall, and an undercover. One meeting about 1968 one of the deputies jacket popped open while he was giving a talk exposing a pearl-handled 45. All the kids were impressed.

During the late 70s Watchtower got very anti-gun and three of the elders quit the force in order to remain in "Good Standing"...and almost starved. Two remained cops...don't ask don't tell..and just didn't serve.

The JWs who do carry are rare...and do it secretly.

While publicly Watchtower is anti-gun and anti -cop...surprisingly they have no problem recruiting ex-cops to investigate (stalk) "enemies" (apostates-litigants) Watchtower deems dangerous to its financial interests.
