Former Lancaster, PA Elder convicted of child sexual abuse of multiple victims .......
by WingCommander inanother creepy pervert elder convicted of multiple counts of child sexual abuse in pennsylvania.
this guy moved from puerto rico to lancaster, pa in the 1990's, worked his way up thru to being an elder, and then used his position to babysit families with children and abuse them.
he then denied everything, but when some victims went to the police, he fled back to pr, where us marshall's eventually caught up to him and arrested him.

Well, that was a quick trial. All over Google search for news the last few days. Glad to see it is ranking high and "Making Jehovah's name known". I hope more of these defendants plead out and roll on the Governing Body.

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

I'm sure he is happy mooching off an affluent JW somewhere nice sipping some good scotch poolside.
Since his location was made public he has been hiding out from all those he wanted to sizzle like an overcooked hotdog.

These cases are becoming hard to follow as time slowly grinds along. Unlike most abuse cases, this State Prosecutor is trying to rope them together and include Watchtower Headquarters for aiding the perps and destroying evidence. What started with 4-5 JW perps is up to about 17 JW perps last I looked. Fingers crossed this approach nets a Governing Body member or two.

The MYSTERY of the Society's BETH-SHAN secret cult compound
by Terry in1945 black and white photo of beth-shan (now hand colored):.
beth-shan house built in 1939, ten years after beth-sarim on adjacent property.
beth-shan, which means "house of security" in hebrew, was literally a house of security -(cult compound)*- it was accessed by a single dirt road that was guarded and gated.

My family used to talk about this stuff in the 60s. They had joined in the 1930s, some were in Bethel. Lots of paranoia from the very beginning. The governing body tells the sheep to have faith in "Gods protection" while they raise money for underground survival bunkers. lol.

Inside the brutal world of the Jehovah’s Witnesses
Since the royal commission exposed the cruel treatment of victims of child abuse within the Jehovah’s Witnesses, little has changed.
But in a landmark civil case, former member Amy Whitby is taking on the secretive religious group in court.
Eight million Jehovah’s Witnesses around the globe believe that Armageddon is imminent, and the only path to survival is to follow the organisation’s strict rules.
A US-based Governing Body of eight men sits at the pinnacle of the Jehovah’s Witnesses organisation. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe these men are anointed as the voice of God on Earth.
All Witnesses are expected to obey instructions and doctrines that influence every aspect of life: Women are considered subservient to men, higher education is discouraged and homosexuality is not permitted.
The organisation’s in-house production studio and publications pump out fear-driven content that keeps followers afraid that the end is coming and that they are being persecuted by the outside world.
Witnesses are also taught to distrust everyone outside the group.
The Governing Body oversees a vast global real estate portfolio, including Kingdom Halls built by congregations around the world.
Amy’s fight for justice
Amy Whitby and her mother, Theresa Clare, left the Jehovah’s Witnesses in 2015.
Ms Clare said she left after realising the extent of abuse within the organisation, including allegedly against her own daughter.
They are scarred by what allegedly happened to Amy as an 11-year-old girl growing up in the remote Queensland town of Mount Isa. Amy said she was abused by a trusted member of the congregation, inside the home her family shared with another Jehovah’s Witnesses family.
“The job of an elder is to shepherd the congregation, to look after the flock, to keep them safe. That’s their job because we’re Jehovah’s people and it’s their job to keep us safe and they failed,” Ms Whitby said.
Ms Clare told Four Corners she complained at the time about Amy’s abuse to a Witness elder.
“There were meetings with the elders in my friend’s home, but I was never believed. I was told that I was mental. They used my illness against me because I had that breakdown and I suffered manic depression,” Ms Clare said.
As part of Ms Whitby’s legal case, she is claiming that the Jehovah’s Witnesses elders must have known her alleged abuser had been convicted the previous year of offences against an eight-year-old boy.
“There’d just be no way that those elders would not have known that he was charged, arrested by the police and then went to court,” Ms Clare said.
“It just doesn’t happen in that religion. People spy on each other, you’re told it’s your responsibility. You hear something about someone you are to report it.”
The Jehovah’s Witnesses say local elders weren’t aware of the prior conviction, and, regardless, the organisation isn’t responsible for the acts of its members within the family home. Despite Ms Clare’s complaints, the man remained in the congregation and even took to the stage to deliver Bible readings.
“It would make me so angry to the point that I would get up and I’d go outside and I’d just pace. I’d just be going around and just that anger, because all I wanted to do was run in there and scream at them that he shouldn’t be allowed up there,” Ms Whitby said. Ms Whitby is now taking legal action against the local Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation and the Australian head office. She’s suing for breaching the duty of care they owed her, by failing to protect her and allowing sexual abuse to occur.
“I feel like what happened had a bit of a domino effect on the rest of my life. I wonder sometimes what my life would have been like if that hadn’t have happened, my self confidence, my self worth,” Ms Whitby said. Attempts to settle have so far failed and Ms Whitby’s case is now headed to trial. It would be the first time in Australia that the Jehovah’s Witnesses organisation has defended sexual abuse allegations in court.
Ms Whitby’s lawyer Lisa Flynn said courts in overseas jurisdictions have found the Jehovah’s Witnesses liable for failing their duty of care to children.
Lisa Flynn is the national practice leader for Shine Lawyers. Four Corners: Harriet Tatham
“We think that the Australian courts will make that same determination when they’re called on to do so.”
Lawyers who have battled the Jehovah’s Witnesses in the US and UK have told Four Corners the organisation has a global problem with both child abuse and the way it responds to victims.
They say the organisation drags cases out until the last possible moment, then settles to avoid a courtroom examination of its practices.
In Australia, a similar pattern is being seen.

It appears the perp got the victims Disfellowshiped!
The State Attorney General has re-opened the botched case.
"The trial for a Jehovah’s Witness elder accused of molesting three girls in 1999 began in a Lancaster County court Monday with lawyers giving opening statements to the jury.
Norman Aviles-Garriga, 45, was charged by the Pennsylvania Attorney General with two counts of aggravated indecent assault and 16 related offenses in connection with assaults alleged by three women who say the abuse happened when they were girls.
Aviles-Garriga is one of five Pennsylvania Jehovah's Witnesses charged by a statewide grand jury with using their positions within their churches to sexually abuse children. The attorney general’s office brought charges against the men in October 2022 and February 2023.
“This case is upsetting to hear and difficult to listen to but once you hear it out it is straightforward,” Assistant Attorney General Angela Sperazza said in her opening statement.
Aviles-Garriga immigrated from Puerto Rico in 1999 and lived with Jehovah’s Witness families in the area as he got established in a church, babysitting their children and eventually becoming an elder, according to charges filed by Attorney General Michelle Henry and statements from Sperazza.
Three girls from the same extended family accused him of molesting them during that time. When two of the girls told their mother about what happened, she did not do anything about it, Sperazza said. In 2010 the girls brought their accusations to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, which declined to prosecute.
At least two of the girls were excommunicated from the Jehovah’s Witness community at least partly because of what Aviles said about them to other congregants, according to Sperazza.
Defense attorney Edwin Pfursich in his opening statements made a point that the District Attorney chose not to prosecute in 2010.
“Mr. (Aviles-Garriga) has maintained his innocence for 14 years,” Pfursich said.
Pfursich said that one of the girls, who was around age 6 in 1999, could have made up a story of molestation and shared it with the other two.
“This case stems from the memory of a 6-year-old when she was sleeping,” Pfursich said.
One of the girls who accused Aviles also accused another Lancaster Jehovah’s Witness leader, Abimael Valentin-Matos, 43, of sexual abuse that she said happened in 2009. The Attorney General charged him in February 2023 with indecent assault of a person under 16 and three related offenses. Valentin-Matos does not have a trial date scheduled yet.
Aviles-Garriga’s trial is expected to run until Wednesday before the jury reaches a verdict."

90% of the C.O.s I ever met were arrogant and mean-spirited to the sheep.
Ted Jaractz later Governing Body member, takes the cake. Tapped 3rd Gens family for 10k + for a new trailer. Always up for a 4-star meal, cocktails, and deluxe lodging. Always asking for favors at Bethel. Wouldn't lift a finger to help return a needy widow's 5-figure LOAN to Watchtower. Worthless child molesting POS.

Fred Franz was a Rhodes Scholar! Also a scholar of ancient Greek!! lol. :)
"He graduated from Woodward High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1911 and attended the University of Cincinnati, where he studied liberal arts and biblical Greek,[1][5] with the intention of becoming a Presbyterian preacher." (but promptly dropped out and never graduated).
PS; If you graduated from Junior College (2 years), you have more education than the Watchtower's chief theologian and Bible translator.
