  No-body is in the position to lecture others in a civil conversation, that IS the point

  Really ? "Atheist Nations are more intelligent, educated and happy" ? Really ? Which nations would those BE exactly ? China ? Its an atheist nation that has NO tuition free high school, NO pensions for the elderly and NO disabilty or workers compensation of welfare and enslaves millions to live and sleep in factories so a small Communist select can enrich themselves off the misery of millions, who regularily commit suicide they are such "happy athesits"

  Chinese flee that country as soon as they can, and the education level in China, among those that manage to be able to afford it, test out at 4th grade. As proven by thousands and thousands of tested incoming immigrants from China. The Chinese atheists, have not invented ONE SINGLE THING in a thousand years. Their "brilliance" is myth. All technology, all manufacturing was transplanted completely intact to China by Europe and North American corporations. China is scientifically backward. Example: China has no waste management and according to the World Health Organization uses raw human excrement and urine on their crops and there is no regulation to prevent it, and its dangerous. Atheist China builds entire cities that are left uninhabited while it bulldozes villages that have been there for a thousand years. Atheist China, is a nightmare of a country. So much for your "lecture", DJS on the "superiority" of atheist countries. Shall we move on to Russia? Want to go there to live ? Russians don't.

  Many people who leave the WT might eventually become atheists, or not. But this may be a process. Your need to lecture people on atheism does not take into consideration where that person is now in their own journey and what it would take to open their eyes and allow them them safely and comfortably exit in their own way. Your misguided impression that you are somehow smarter or better informed or more scientific or better educated than absolutely anybody who believes in God is in itself, evidence of your own self centered delusion and a very WT mindset in that, you just have to be on top, and have the last word and be right.

  The question is who is trying to "dominate" who ?

  Insisting on your own point of view, insulting those who do not see the world as you see it ? Accusing all believers of ignorance would be an example of absurd megalomania.

  Or accusing Christians of knowing nothing about science, when you yourself have no university degree, but the believer does and has studied math and science not in 'community college', but in a real world respected university. Becoming angry with anyone coming on the site who holds a belief in God.

  If this is an atheists site it should not be entitled Jehovah's Witness.net and advertise itself as a place to discuss biblical and doctrinal beliefs of jw's. It should be re-named as exjwatheists.net and be a place to tear apart anyone who believes anything except what atheists believe. Its a different format I think.

  It makes no difference to me what you believe. You know what they say about opinions and everybody having one, just like .......'s every one has one.

  objective - Psalm 50:9 I think it is conveying some idea of the non - material. In a world that did not know there were invisible worlds under their own feet and in the dirt or a drop of water. This is talking about a life form that does not need them or their animal sacrifices. Today, that seems simplistic to us but profound to the people of those times, the idea was there is something beyond what they know that is not about material everyday ritual and symbolic sacrifice. How would God convey that life is made up of energy and light and protons and atoms and complex beyond their imagination ? How could they be informed that billions of galaxies surrounded them and their own existance was a blink of an eye ?

  If man was left to evolve on their own and to be who they chose to be, then the consequences of their actions and thier choices and interactions with others apparently were left to chance and circumstance. It would be the intervention that was unusual, not the lack of it. Did God intervene ? Was there opposing forces in an unseen universe ? Are we all on our own? Lost out here in the Stars? If we are all on our own, as atheists believe, then all the more reason to band together.

  Fink - thanks for this interesting comparison of details. I will look these up using Gateway online which has dozens of translations which all differ slightly as well.

  Tiger and others- All I am saying is if the purpose of this site is to enlighten people to the life destroying trap of the Watchtower, then people like "Doc-House" (who probably will never own a house or be a doctor) due to the life stifling closed mindedness and isolationist policies of the WT, could be driven back in by this constant stomping on God and the Bible. It will back-fire.

  You will not enlighten him/her you will alienate the very person you seek to enlighten. The deadly seven magic men, writing endless Watchtowers read by people who come here, those daring to seek a way out if possible, even the apologists who really are just testing their own indoctrination, might need a softer approach. Less anger ? The Site mandate seems to be stated in its own headings. It does not say it is a site for atheists to beat up believers, does it ?

  Bible or no Bible, atheists or head chopping Islamic fundamentalist, its all a men hating on other men, suppressing women, grabbing stuff and beating each other up. The Bible claims there is something called Good and Evil. Unseen Spirits or invisible beings. SCIENCE tells us there is unseen forces, Dark Matter, other Dimensions, sounds almost religious, but because its science you respect that. There is too much unknown to pretend you have it all figured out, you don't.

  The starter with these young JW's is to get them to look at the cold , simple facts of the history of their own leaders and the fact they have no "special knowledge" or magical Governing Body that "mediates" for them or any "special relationship" to God/Jehovah/Yaweh. That delusion is number one to topple. ( in my observation )

  currently i still am part of a congregation, which i gather is also the case for many who come here.

  i no longer consider them god's chosen people.

  with all the right tools and I found that yes, there is no hell, no soul, the earth will abide forever, all creation reconciled to perfection, a small group going to heaven and a much larger group on earth, it is indeed fact that the bible doesn't support the trinity doctrine

  Moses , you are on the right track, but prepared to challenge even these deeply held beliefs I qouted above from your post. Please find yourself a copy of Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz, who sat on the governing body, download it in PDF format for free or buy it in paperback , but read it, to free your mind from the False Prophet of the Watchtower and seven men who tell you they are the sole channel of communication with God and in doing so they make themselves the Man of Lawlessness standing in the Holy Place since only Jesus Christ is the mediator between you and Jehovah, no men needed. No organization mentioned in the Bible and no "classes" mentioned either.

  Today's WT study! So hypocritical!

  so today's study is all about being kindly, and not judgemental to those in the congregation....we don't know their circumstances etc.... i can't believe the hypocrisy being spewed out...both in the article and by means of the answers from the audience!.

  we know the reality is so different!

  unless a witness does everything exactly as the gb directs...in every aspects of life, they are effectively no longer a good person, but are viewed as spiritually lacking or weak..... they are going directly beyond the biblical directives, and being ones who condemn, rather than ones who commend!.

  Since I left the organization, I have been in and around, several different churches and what I realized is that they don't have to sit and group-read articles and fake answers ,out of underlined paragraphs, to know the whole point of Christianity is love.

  Just real love and compassion, its a simple message, its not advanced theology or complicated, treat others as you would like to be treated, help those in need, forgive people, overlook their faults. Why is this big news to JW's ?

  Nobody but Cults do the shunning thing. Its pretty much the mark of a Cult. Real Churches in Christendom, even go a step further and feed the poor and collect clothes and help distressed people and see these actions as the work of Christianity, something entirely lost on the JW mindset. Jehovah's Witnesess, are the most unloving, judgemental, self righteous, and most likely to abandon you, people, I ever came across. Cold hearted and spiritually dead. And yet the GB keeps telling them they are in "Spiritual Paradise". A spiritual Desert is a more accurate description. As they all sit there like Zombies during the Memorial. Its all so creepy.

  Basic Rules of all liars, all decievers, all self righteous False Prophets:

  (1) Never accept blame

  (2) Never flinch when lying

  (3) Never say your sorry for lying, decieveing and hurting others

  (4) Always shift blame to others

  (5) When confronted with your own wrong doing, Shame, Blame, and point the finger

  at anyone who caught you lying, calling them names like "apostate"

  there are a number of such observations being recently made - such as a large number with debts subject to collection and people facing retirement with no savings.. i advise the wts to 'take the money and run'.

  My solution is to have three bank accounts. One I live on. One I put tax return money and extra bonus money in and never touch it, the third collects a small monthly income and I let it accumulate and only use it in absolute emergencies, for gifts and once a year that is my vacation money. I only carry a bank card on the main account and treat the other two as if they do not exist. I also never buy anything I cannot pay cash for. I have always lived below my means. I try to avoid stress this way. As far as pensions go, teachers retire on a government pension that is 80% of their working income. Government pensions are the safest, and most generous, unless you are a high level Banker of course.

  what if the gb decided that "new light" revealed to them that disfellowshipping was wrong and they would do away with it for current dfd members as well...... .......16 years of my life.

  People in every family, every dysfunctional family that is, (and thats what the JW's are, a dysfunctional family), will shun certain members who are whistle blowers, or question the family mythology or expose family secrets, they close ranks and turn their backs and thats any dysfunctional group, religious and non -religious.

  It happens in political groups in organizations and in academia as well, in every, us-against-them mindset. Then add to that, the ability to absolve yourself of responsibilty, by claiming you are serving some "higher cause" and obeying a superior way of thinking and justifying your appalling actions as virtuous,and you have the worst that human kind produces and we see it everywhere.
